Not the worse songs I've heard, but certainly makes me cringe.

It's all the Irish stereotypes he manages to pack into the song, from the way he sings 'Oirish band' to the cliched irish fiddle to the diddle eyedle diddle eye outro.

MacArthur Park, any version but especially Richard Harris'. "Someone left a cake out in the rain", for feck's sake. Unbelievably, this bloated nonsense came from Jimmy Webb, writer of the glorious Wichita Lineman and other genuine gems. I suppose everybody has an off-day.

Even this version? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYSaUAaor4w
Unfortunately this was the only one I could find on you tube and the vinyl copy I had of the album is long gone.

"I just called to say I Love You" by Steveie Wonder.

What makes it worse is the fact it seems to go on for aeons and just when you think the torture is almost over.... *KEY CHANGE*. Aaarrrrgggghhhh!!

It is pretty awful, though tbh I'm not a fan of Stevie Wonder anyway.

There's a certain fascination to his works ("Lucy in the sky with diamonds" is a classic). Don't forget Leonard Nimoy too, "Bilbo Baggins" had a similar fascination, aided by the video.
