CASH PRICE £850 COLLECTED WIGAN, £900 INC UK INSURED COURIER.

Got this last week at a great price (£820 but I drove to Scotland to collect).
Unlike the AV 57 RI and the Road Worn 50's , this does not have a shallow back to front neck. GUTTED :(
Not baseball bat D Tele type profile, but certainly a deeper C than the series before.
By my eyes (NO guarantee :P ) 22 mm deep from board to back of neck at 1st fret, and 26 mm from board to back of neck at 12th fret.
As a pose to a more normal reading of around 20 and 23 respectively.

So fretting is hurting my hand a bit.

ISSUES.
3 nasty dint's as per photos, plus some " certain light" surface scuffing.
Both case locks are buggered, but it can be closed on the middle hasp thing.
One screw missing from chrome pick up cover.

GOOD BITS.
Lacquered scratchplate.
Sounds wonderful.
8 LBS !

Feedback linked below.
Many thanks for looking,
cheers,
Karl.

Ahhhh Yes! - I reviewed one for an upcoming issue of GI Mag. I loved it but would have to take the covers off it came with. Great tone and if I had the spare cash.....

Lovely looking bass - I'm being strangely drawn back to Fenders.....
I'm glad this went or I may have crumbled...

Look forward to the review dood. Yes, covers look glorious but need removing for most players.

On Fri night this was put on hold for a member. He changed his mind yesterday.

This morning it was put on hold for another member, who also changed his mind.

Last Wed a certain tribute bass was put on hold for somebody on Facebook. He appears to have gone awol.

Even my patience is wearing thin.
Karl.

Hmm. American Vintage series at £50 more than a used Mex Flea and getting lowballed.

Given the way Fender prices have gone lately, these will be pushing £2k new in a couple of years so probably no big deal if it doesn't go now :)

Karl, do you have any experience of the U shape on the 74 AVRI Jazz and how this might compare to yours profile wise (as I have one of these and like the feel)? Clearly width would be different but I'm not fussed about that.... I've also had a 51 CIJ Precision but didn't like that neck at all really.

Thanks

Steve

People think that your'e desperate to sell mate. Its a bargain right there. What i usually do is to get the person to bank transfer £50 for a hold. That sorts the men from the idiots !
Thanks Mike. I usually take a members word as his bond. Up until this year that had only backfired once.
I always put something out at a price I think fair to both buyer and seller. Cash price wise, this is a bit of a bargain despite the couple of issues. The last two I can find on here were out at £1100 and £1150. No hurry to sell. Possibly giving it a whirl at rehearsal this Thurs, see how I get on with it stood up.

Sorry Steve I've not been lucky enough to try a U profile jazz.
I've not had a '51 either as I just know those big necks are going to be no good to me.

I have had a Blue Flower 54 RI. Lovely bass in many ways but the neck on that was huge as well. Much deeper back to front that this 58 RI. Which in turn is a bit deeper back to front, than the quite shallow AV57RI and Road Worn Precision.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.
Cheers,
Karl.

You've lost me there Mike  :P

I have decided this is sale only now.
Too many people (not all) have offered me trades based on the CASH price rather than the TRADE valuation.

Or put another way, no, I'm not going to accept a Mex Precision and £300 . Kindly remember £1669 new :D

Cheers,
Karl.
