[/quote] Maybe - but it'd really be down to the electronics - I'd imagine many 4 string P & J pickups would be pretty lame as 6 string pickups, especially those with regular bridges (with very little string spacing adjustability - not that you'd want to have to adjust string spacing to get the pickups to work right!).
