Might be OT but this the only thread I see fit without making a new one to ask something...

I have a stingray myself, but I'm wondering how much do they cost 2nd hand or 3rd or whatever now? Realistic price? £700-800 probably? Just basing on what I've seen here.

Nice! shame about the B string as you say, then Ray 5's dont look as good as 4's unless you have a ClassicRay which cost loads......

I'd go with these as a rule of thumb;
Bottom about £650 if its a bit shabby, no case or just an absolute steal off ebay at 3 am (they are out there)
Tops £850 tidy with case and a tasty unusual colour maybe.
Unless its a pre EB £1150 dog rough-£2100 mint
1987ish-1993ish £700 dog rough-£1300 mint

Both are correct... but I'd swap the necks. IMO, there's more to gain from the neck H on a fretted model... but that's me :)

Classic burst is always cool. By definition, ;)

An orange pair would be killer, indeed!

Curiously I did swap the necks before seeing your post. You are spot on, the neck H is really precision like on the fretted and the 2eq just right on the fretless. Respect!

I couldn't agree more with Pete's evaluations. Maybe we could add Classic 4 at £1100-1300.

ok....as the pre ernie rays are hard to find with a rosewood neck....

I try my luck here: ( i already posted several times in Items wanted)

looking for an early ernie ball ray with Rosewood neck, ASH Body and 2 band active circuit :mellow:

thanks :happy:

would trade even against one of my pre ernie rays....fretless, cutlass....fretted
