This particular design is unpadded, because the width of the strap and the contour distributes the weight evenly over the player's body.
As, such, the design isn't suited to padding.
I can design a padded strap for you if you like.

The design looks solid. Showing it with a bass and/or on a person may help things along.
Also, as a handcrafted premium product, it's a niche market.
For the work put in, the price is certainly fair. However they are more costly than many other designs currently available.
A highly custom product like this will need to prove itself 'in the flesh'. I'm sure the difference in comfort with ordinary straps is huge!

Thanks.
I understand the handmade/niche market thing.
I agree, it needs to be seen, worn and used to prove itself.
Yes, it really is a lot more comfortable than normal straps.

I tried the sample with the equivalent of a 14 Pound bass and it was very comfortable, the weight spread evenly over the back and shoulders, without and pressure points, Smooth and even.

OK, sure.
When you're ready.
Never too early to start kicking ideas around, though...

I just acquired a lovely Fender Marcus Miller Jazz bass from a member here.
I'll test the new prototype ergonomic strap on it.

The Millers aren't known for being feather-weight :)

If anyone would like to test the proto out, it can be borrowed for the cost of two way postage.
I believe in the honour system.

Or possibly send it direct?

Kind of a pay-it-forward arrangement.....

I will need to keep track of where it is, as it's the only datum for the design. One of a kind.
It must come home :)

I've punched a load more strap button holes along the tail, so there's more range of fitting for the proto.
The ones made to measure will only have one hole.

am happy to send it wherever instructed ;)

Given the insurance level for it, it will need sending by recorded delivery so you'll always know when it's arrived :)

Maybe ask folks to post a pic of them using it too?

Yes, signed for is a must.
Insurance I'm less bothered about since I can make another.

The information is the valuable part.

The whole exercise is about you guys trying it, giving feedback, etc.
So pics are a great idea.

You'll need to bear in mind that this hasn't been made for your measurements, so it won't be perfect.
