'Complimenting' I'd say :-)
[/quote]

Ah! So that's what it's called? Thanks!

Btw, re. picture above holding the green Bongo - you look different to how I would have imagined you, should I have ever tried to imagine you (prior to seeing that picture)

Was waiting for a comment like that. :) You'd expect an ugly, depressed, old, bald, fat bloke wouldn't you? Well, you'd be right.
She OTOH is a friend of mine, and a real woman despite the slightly androgynous look on this here pic.

Sorry about the crappy Photobooth pics.

Wow! I liked that MTD. It gave me the impression of being, for lack of a better word, consistent with itself in the different design elements and use of wood and colour.

That Ray, since it's called Tango, does it have Tangerine Pearl as a colour? Different pics of that colour are sooo wildly different that I have no chance of guessing.

Thanks! Yes, I also think the MTD is very harmonious, aesthetically. And it feels and sounds even better than it looks. I am really addicted to the asymmetrical necks on these things - so comfortable to play. And it is definitely the funkiest and grooviest sounding bass I have ever played. Just love it.

Yes indeed, Tangerine Pearl. And yes, impossible to pin down in photographs. I know pretty much any bass/colour looks better in the flesh, but here the cliche really is true. Perhaps we should start a new thread - eye-poppingly colourful basses of the world unite!

The only two I have right now are:

G&L El Toro

G&L Tribute M-2000

I suppose any black bodied Gibson with a traditional headstock is cheating - as the fact that they match is a coincidence?

Be that as it may: Gibson G-3

Epiphone Les Paul (Not So) Standard

Your words - not mine. :D

Wouldn't that be the Music Man Porn Thread? ;)
But yes, I like that idea. It's fun to see some wild stuff, like weird basses and eye-poppingly colourful ones, sometimes or often.

A lot of black beauties here
Here mine. I loved it

Edit for BassTractor, i forgot the rules : year, brand, name, details... Sorry :)

Early 90s Godin Electro-acoustic (piezo and harp inside) bass with LRBaggs preamp, in a rarer black finish. Not a A4 Godin Bass.

What great mystery is this? The body is from a Vintage V4 "Reissue". The neck is from the Internet (I don't remember the retailer). The most noteworthy bit of this bass is the wee switch below the pickups. It activates a hidden Wilkinson J pickup buried in the body under the 24th fret position. I think the switch brings it in parallel with the main pickup. I bolstered the pickup with extra magnets to try and extend the range of the pickup up to the strings.

Dig;

I''m planning to repeat the exercise with a Warman Dominator pickup on a new project bass.

Whats the thinking behind sticking a 6 string leccy guitar pup in a bass ?
