The lush strings seem to be a departure from their previous sound and the lack of traditional rock band instrumentation is a bold move for them, but I really didn't like it when the pizzicato violins kicked in. They should have mixed the bass a bit louder IMO , though. Something very late 1980's about their sound that I like.
