On mobile so the link is a pain to get, but it's on the Premier Guitar website. Not to be confused with the recent Midtown bass. Black/Sunburst/Dark Cherry. I'm into it, really wanted a midtown since selling my Jack Casady, but this looks like its more suited to me. 34" scale and pickup position/choices are upsetting some EB purists, but I really like how it looks. I've thought about the Hagstrom Viking, the Jack Casady, the Midtown but I'm looking at the Gretsch G5440. I'm hoping to take a look at the Gibsons at the London show but I'm not sure if the Gretsch will be there as they don't have a stand... unless maybe it will be on the Fender stand. Thinking maybe Fender own Gretsch but could well be wrong. Would be interested in knowing the price of this Gibson but the Midtown is a Grand with case so I guess it will be much more. The Gretsch is about £829 but without a case..so about a Grand as well with a case, if you can get one... only seen them for sale in the States that fit. I'm tempted by one of these, but I'm concerned that much like the Jack Casady bass I had, I'd leave it in the rack more than I'd take it out; and this is a lot more expensive than the epi! AndyTravis Posted April 17, 2013 Author Share Posted April 17, 2013 I'm really not sure, I did have a lot of basses at that time. I love the look and sounds from hollow/semi hollow basses, but I seem to prefer the overall sound of solid biddy basses. I had a hofner too at the time, and if I gigged either bass - the sound for a band situation really was superb (front of house), but I couldn't really hear what I sounded like on stage. Also, the hofner particularly didn't like one or two tunes I used overdrive on. Not in that band anymore, so I'm still debating if what put me off was me or the band I was with.
