4x10, which one?

I've always had 4x10's, moved to a 6x10, now back on a 4x10! I have a 4x10 now on loan whilst I find something!
Been having a look round, two different Aguilar cabs, ashdown classic (neo! And made in uk) ampeg!
I have always had two, and probably will do this time!
Any comments on any of the above I have mentioned?

Tony

Really like my Aguilar DB210's which I pair up to make a 410 config.
At one point I considered their 212, but am glad I didn't..ditto 210 plus 115..
The 2x210 pr fill a decent stage.... great sound

I wish Aguilar did a DB610.. but I really don't have enough dates for it

DB112 and GS112 use the same chassis but tune the cab diierently...so the GS has BIG low end and a mid scoop..so you know where the tune bias is.
I assume they follow this idea with the 212 and 412 configs and retain the diierent voices between GS and DB cabs.

I don't think they sell GS 10" cabs here...
I don't know what the SL range is like but I tend not to like NEO's over ceramics from what I have tried...but this is just my pet 'theory'

Waiting for someone to mention a certain cab manufacturer beginning with B...

Not me, Behringer are rubbish. I never got on so great with the Ashdown cabs, though I love the heads. GK do brilliant cabs in their neo or RBH range, and though I've never owned, I've used and liked the Aggie and Ampeg 4x10"s.

My current cab, a Markbass 104HR is a fantastic cab. I really like Ampeg, and they have always been my favourite, but I think that Markbass has taken that position, which is something I never thought I would say. A real nice bass presence, felt as well as heard, but without that boom/flub that often comes with a bass heavy sound.

+1

Very sensitive cabs too so they put out much more volume with the same amp wattage/settings :)

When I was researching what to buy, I recall that the B&C drivers have a longer excursion than the majority of other drivers (wait a min, didn't I post something similar about 6 months ago?). So that might part explain them being so loud?

Watching the speakers in my Markbass cab jump all over the place confirms that they have CRAZY excursion! I don't have a clue whether it makes them louder, but it's reassuring to know that they're able to move that much more as they're so much less likely to get damaged... Never heard of one blowing!

I tried that with my 500w F1 head through an 8 ohm 4x10... I couldn't turn up more than halfway before the stage vibrated so much that my feet tickled and lost my balance!

At the moment, I am using an ashdown jj500 which was bought as a back up for my matamp when outon the road, but has proved itself in its own right!

I looked at amped and saw there were a few different cabs in the range

Using GAK for linkns for no other reason than convenience!

Ampeg PF 410HLF 4x10 Cab

Ampeg Pro Neo PN-410HLF

The pro series neo would do the job but carries a hefty price tag, the Ampeg PF 410HLF 4x10 Cab may be an option, looks cool too!

The ashdown classic mentioned earlier is whole different beast to previous cabs

Ashdown CL-410H

Not really into mark bass, been there prefer a more traditional looking cab also!
