F/T Parker Fly USA Quilted Maple 59 burst, Graphite Neck, Piezo and Jazz SOLD

This is the genuine USA model that was only in production for about a year NOT the Far East models. It has a quilted maple front AND back, graphite neck (very slim and 'probably' as slim or slimmer than many Jazz), with (Fishman) piezo pups and DiMarzio (etched on the covers) Jazz pups. The controls are very versatile and IMHO it has the best volume set-up on any bass loaded with piezo and magnetic pups; you have a volume for the piezos, a volume for the magnetics AND a master volume for the lot... effectively you can balance the pups any way you like and then turn the lot down and up with one control (also a pan for the Jazz pups and tone controls for both mag and piezo pups).

The bass balances and plays beautifully.

I've only had this about 3-4 months but as I now have 3 piezo loaded basses I need to move one on and though it may sound strange reasoning for moving a bass on; my other basses are smaller! That isn't to say that this is heavy (it is less than 8lb in weight and closer to 7.5lb iirc), just physically not as small as my other basses.

It has no nasty dings, dinks or worming and is in excellent nick; the frets are also in excellent condition.

Comes complete with 'Parker' branded gig bag, the allen keys and instructions. If you don't want the gig bag I'll keep it and knock £30 off. Cheap for a gig bag I confess but if you want to squeeze a deal and you already have a good gig bag or case it might make the difference!

I'll obviously supply more pics etc. Collection is best but I will courier it at cost and package it appropriately regardless of whether it has a gig bag or not.

Any questions just drop me a PM, I normally respond pretty promptly.

Trades - I'm not really sure what I want to be honest! I'd not refuse any style of bass BUT I'm only interested in 4 strings and I'd need to have an accurate weight for your bass and anything much more than 9lb is a definite no. I don't mind adding a bit of cash to a deal but equally I'd take a cheaper bass with cash my way.

This is a stunning looking bass. I'm sure it plays just as well as it looks. Unfortunately, I don't have any funds at present but someone who has can trust John implicitly. The man has great feedback so buy in confidence.

Never been a fan of the appearance of these but they are certainly quirky :)

Good luck with the sale, I had fun digging through the description to try and find a price

Good point, I'll make it clearer. ;)

I've been asked to confirm the weight of the bass as it seems that it could be almost impossible to be as light as I claim... 7lb 6oz GUARANTEED! :D

I would consider a cheaper part ex; (doesn't have to be a bass I could be tempted by anything bass related; cab, amp, combo, radio gear... especially Line 6 G50! However please be reasonable with your trade value... the Parker may be priced at just over £1000 but it's cost when new was significantly more than that so I'll not be interested in a trade for a Mex P bass @ the same price as the Parker. Does that sound reasonable?

How about a mex P bass and this analogue delay pedal I have and a overdrive and delay and muff pedal wot I made myself? All together I think that they come way above £1000

I'd never say 'never' Col though tbh my Sadowsky PJ is probably as much P bass as I need... the decider would likely be perceived values so that if I decide to move it on I'd not lose out. PM me by all means but there is a lot of International interest on eBay and it might end up where I get more on there than I'm asking on BC!

Just had an interesting message on ebay re. my Parker Fly bass...

I would seriously reconsider selling this Bass if I were you. It is more rare than you think. Your right, they only made these from 11/02 to 08/03. I have 2 of them myself 0303277 and 0303320. The fact that your is a burst means it was not an offered color. I have contact with a woman named Sharon who was the painter for Parker when these were built. She painted every one of them. On the basses, since they were laminated if they could see any glue between the layers of spruce on the bodies they would paint the guitar black. I have one of these. She told me she did a few off the wall paint jobs like the burst you have. Most were straight black though. Yours may be the only burst paint job from the factory. They made less than 300 of these. Also, most of the basses that were black or other than standard color had the duel humbuckers and no piezo. I have one of the blacks that has the jazz pickups and piezo like yours. These are very few. Just thought you should know before selling..Randy

Now, should I just hold onto this...? :D

This is very interesting! A good friend of mine has a 5 string Parker Fly bass he would like to sell. I'm going to need a bit more information as i will be advertising it for him. Looks like send Parker a message is a good idea! Have a free bump on me for a great bass. The 5 string plays like butter!!

Difficult to get info from Parker re. these basses as they made them for a very brief period and when I contacted them they basically said nice bass but can't give you any info as they are discontinued!

I'm pulling this from ebay as I may have an interested party from the States and I'd rather go for a guaranteed price rather than run the risk of a 'possible' good price on ebay.
shame about that

i was gonna have a punt

for future reference, your ebay end date (10amish 2muro) was not a good choice as many people at work or if not working maybe not awake - best finish time is sunday pm/evening - maximise your chance of a "good price"

cheers

Daft thing is that I've used ebay loads and generally have placed things on a 10 day listing to end on a Sunday evening but this was an impulse listing that I did due to being distracted the other weekend (otherwise I would have considered the end time and day) and it was a free listing weekend!

The Ibanez is staying up as the price is fine and I'll get back (near enough) what I paid.

John always seems to have the basses that are just that little bit out of the norm yet incredibly desirable. ive been floored by both his current offerings.

Have a bump just for the 'porn' value. This Parker is possibly the nicest bass ive seen in many moons!
