1. Thanks dudes. The Thumpinator doesn't change the tone as far as I can tell. I took it out the chain out of curiosity and noticed a slight roll off of treble (no buffers between bass and amp). Currently have two buffers now (Thump and B7K) and I don't perceive a difference in tone running clean.
2. That said, it is one of those "I can't sell this because it sounds too good" pieces of kit. It will be used in the future for other projects and recording.
3. Unfortunately I like to have at least one tweeter on 50% in my rig and the TFR doesn't sound that great unless I turn the tweeter off. That and my current projects don't really call for fuzz If I could fit it on I would.
4. Got the B7K today. I like it but the EQ certainly gives you something to think about; I found dialling in tones more difficult than the B3K but it is certainly more flexible. Will have to see how it sounds live:
5.
I'll give them that the other things I ordered came in good time (really good time) it's just incredibly frustrating when something like this happens. The power supply and cables I also ordered are pretty much useless without the board. After bouncing a few emails with them (their responses were top notch) they offered me some alternatives to the PT mini, 2 out of the 3 being more expensive. Maybe I was just unlucky.. The PT's on amazon are from a german company unfortunately, thanks for the suggestions though!
Well at least they were nice. I got the impression they'd sort of fobbed you off.
6. And in response to OP: There's some here being sold through Amazon Marketplace: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pedaltrain-Mini-Soft-Case-Pedalboard/dp/B002HQOWKE Could try eBay too.
7. Sorry if that sounds bitter and dismissive but I hate it when companies do this sort of stuff; working musicians NEED their gear for rehearsals and gigs. If they can take the time to mark other products out of stock then they should ensure they do it with all products (as this leads the customer to believe it's in stock when it's not... like in your case). Years ago I ordered a rig from Andertons. Paid for next day courier. Next day arrives, no show. Had to cancel a rehearsal. Next day, no show. Day after, no show. Ended up managing to borrow someone else's amp last minute for a weekend gig. I don't recall the conversations I had with them but it essentially boiled down to "it's in the courier's hands". Haven't bought anything from them since.
8. Well, I can safely say they've lost a potential customer here.
9. Mad Capsule Markets are also worth a mention (Digitech Whammy, overdrive, arpeggiators off the top of my head in different songs):

11. Quite! I could get lovely sounds out of the B3K no matter what my amp settings. You can manipulate its tone even further if you EQ its sound (either at bass or amp). I recorded this using an active P bass with DEAD roundwounds (treble boosted) into the B3K to an old Hartke 20 watt combo (8 inch speaker) mic'd with a cheap SM58 copy > PC. Not an ideal recording setup. It's a very repetitive song but I'd recommend skipping to the middle 8 if you get bored. You can hear how the pedal's timbre accents heavier pick attacks tastefully. The gain is set deceptively high which goes to show how well this pedal can punch through with a butt load of dirt. Apologies for sloppy parts, I'm not a pick player primarily but that is no excuse https://soundcloud.com/bigbassbob/madcapsb3mmp3
12. I read on Talkbass that the OD circuits are identical with the active 4 band and D.I. after it so I hope it sounds the same flat. The main reasons I'm upgrading are: 1. Ability to fine tune the tone a bit more with the EQ. 2. Ability to use it as an EQ boost when the blend is down. 3. Convenient placement on the board (it will literally fit just fit on comfortably and looking neat at the end of the chain so the D.I. and buffered switch are an added bonus for me).
13. Please let me know how it is! I'm excited to get one but at the same time I'm going to cry myself to sleep if it doesn't have the same magic as the B3K I sold to hamfist.
14.
Grammar is a bit poor in the letter. Or is it just me?
No, you are correct.
15. Your singer definitely has a sultry vibe going but nothing shocking, especially when you consider the sort of acts you see on talent shows on BBC/ITV on a Saturday evening. Sounds like this letter was written by an envious better half!
16. You have to rub it in. I can't afford my B7K until Monday... I miss my B3K already!
17. Bought a bypass looper from me. Perfect comms, fast payment and a gentleman to do business with
18. Dave bought some strings from me. Prompt payment, excellent comms and a pleasure to deal with
19. PM what you have to offer mate Other than a B7K I'm after a Pedal Train Mini (for guitar board) but if something catches my eye I might be tempted.
20. Alan bought my B3K from me. Lovely bloke, prompt payment and perfect comms. Cheers, Bob.
21. As far as I'm aware 4003 necks adjust like other basses you just have to adjust the two rods carefully. It's the 4001 that you have to put pressure on the headstock and tighten the neck with the rods.
22. Bumping like a mad G.
23. Also my rule of thumb is this: S.K.H.S. - Shep Knows His S***
