1. Hello mate. You obviously love this bass (it certainly is a beauty!!) so why not get out there and gig it? Scratches/dings/chips; it's all part of the journey. Life is short my friend, you may not find another bass you like to play as much as this. Get out there and play it and love playing it. It's what it's meant to do, to be played. Superficial damage is unavoidable but it doesn't really matter; at least it will still sound amazing :-) Sorry, I'll shut up now :-) If I had the spare cash, I'd buy it off you and gig it myself. Anyway, good luck whatever happens. Lovely bass! ;-)
2. Amazing price for this! As I always say, totally underrated basses.I once owned a '79 BB1200 and now own an '84 BB2000. Best basses I've ever had. This can't be round for long at this price surely. BARGAIN BUMP!!

11. Hello again BCers. Here we have a black Yamaha BB424 for sale. I bought this on a bit of a whim a couple of months back, as I was really missing having a P/J equipped bass and I do love the Yams, as some of you may know... Then, lo and behold, my dream Yamaha (a BB2000 in natural) appeared on ebay and I just had to snap it up!! So this black one has now become a bit redundant, second fiddle, to say the least and as money is ever scarce in the Bobby K household, I really need to move it on. It's a fantastic bass, typical Yamaha quality and in great condition and in complete working order. There are a couple of cosmetic issues worth mentioning however. Firstly, there is a small "crack" in the surface of the wood at the top of the neck, in between the two darker laminate stripes, just below the headstock. I must emphasise that this is only at the very surface of the wood and the bass is absolutely sound structurally. The previous owner said it was caused by the way it was displayed on a hanger, at the shop he bought it from. I've tried to capture it in the pics anyway. It may be possible to sand it out. (I had a little go myself and improved the appearance a bit, but gave up. I finished it with a very fine grit an covered over with a couple of layers of Tru oil) - anyway, as I said, it's purely a cosmetic issue. The other cosmetic issue with the bass can be seen in some very prominent buckle rash on the back of the body. I tried my best to photograph this but because of the gloss black finish, it was really hard to capture (see pic, where the back of the bass is basically like a mirror! You can just make out some streaks/marks in the middle of the back of the bass. The other marks in that pic are simply dust) I may try and get a better pic. The rash is basically a number of grey streaks on the gloss black finish. Other than these two issues, the bass is very clean, with just the usual insignificant signs of use you'd find with a used bass. No electrical issues whatsoever and the bass sounds fab. The bass is in Liverpool. There is no case but the bass will be packed well. Looking for £180 delivered. If you can pick it up, I'll take 160. Pics to follow when I can get the kids off the computer !(school holidays - d'oh!!)
12. Yep it's a wet Liver-pool here today. Shame you're not closer. Always been intrigued by these little fellas and would've liked to hear it in action...
13. I've coveted this one before and I do so again...! Lovely Yam mate
14. You almost bought mine jay, didn't you, if I remember correctly
15.
no refinish here she does play like butter
The refin to natural was a labour of love on my part (favourite BB colour) :-) These sound brilliant even without the active circuit engaged. Buy with confidence people ;-)
16. Bargain, even with the cracks! Good luck with the sale sir ;-) *only wish I had the dough for it. Used to have one, but it was a bit younger than this one, refinished to natural. Versatile basses, much recommended!
