1. Whoever takes a punt on this will be very pleasantly surprised and impressed with its quality and excellent sound. Punches massively above its weight. Please, someone buy it, because I can't afford to!
2. Price drop bump. Will take £450 delivered. That's as low as I can go folks...
3. I bought Funkle's one of these and massively regret letting it go. So tempted by this and so close as you're in Chester but I really can't buy another bass right now. Still waiting for my five string to sell on here. But yep, massively tempted. A LOT of bass for little money this and it sounds like a much more expensive one for sure ;-)
4. Nice one fella. Yep, sometimes people even ask if it's active, same happens with my BB2000. Hats off to Yamaha for great basses ;-)
5. Will now include postage in the price, so £500 delivered, or £500 picked up, whichever is easier.
6.
I sold this to Bobby and saw him play it live with The Christians it sounded a lot better than it ever did in my hands! Deal with Bobby in full confidence he is a gent and a true BCer as well as an excellent player. This is a pro quality 5er for a snip. I don't think you can buy them new now as they have been discontinued. I guess it is because they are so close to the £2K 2000 series. (same pups, spline body etc) sure i had the weight at 4.1-4.2kg using the bathroom scales method. regardless its very well balanced and never felt too heavy playing for long periods to me and I'm only a little fella! GLWTS
Nice one Bri :-)
7. Hiya. Not really sure how to do this. Getting on the scales while holding the bass brings it out at about 4.6kg, dunno if that sounds about right? I have no other way of measuring the weight, no luggage scales or anything like that...
8. Yamaha BB1025 five string bass in gloss black for sale. The bass is about two years old and I am the second owner. I bought it from BC'er "thebuckets" (Brian) about three months ago and have been using it professionally at gigs up and down the country with The Christians. The bass is in fantastic condition, almost as new but for a few barely visible hairline surface scratches/marks/blemishes on the finish here and there. These are inevitable on a gloss black finish and I've tried very hard to photograph them. Purely in the interest of being thorough, I'll try to describe them. The most noticeable areas are on the back, near the neck bolts, a tiny blemish near the pickup selector and the area under the G string at the end of the neck (gloss finish looks a little dull where fingers have rubbed) - Look closely at the pics to see what I mean, but to be honest these issues really are hard to see unless you are holding the bass and looking very closely! The bass is in complete working order with zero issues. It has never let me down and sounds phenomenal!! The output from the pickups is absolutely monstrous. Typical fantastic quality from Yamaha, an absolute tone beast that cuts through the mix! If you know your Yamahas, you'll know what you're looking at but for those who want to know a little more about this model, go to the following link. It really is worth a read to see what quality goes into these basses: http://m.uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musical-instruments/guitars-basses/el-basses/bb/bb1025/?mode=model Includes a high quality Yamaha gig bag, which contains the original case candy, consisting of Yamaha owner's manual, Allen keys and a basic jack lead. Genuine reason for sale. I am also a cellist and currently raising funds for a new cello, so this has to go. These basses currently sell for around £700 brand new. I paid Brian £500 for it three months ago, so basically after my money back. Bass is in Liverpool. Pickup in person preferred but I am also prepared to post if buyer pays postage costs (I'll just need a day or two to get packaging materials together) I'll also consider delivering personally if you're not too far away and meeting halfway is also an option. Here are some pics:
9. My workhorse amp for 20 years or so. Still got it, although it's far more tatty now than this fine example :-) Lovely to see this.
10. I had one of these for a while. Beautiful sounding bass, very hi-fi sound. Typical amazing quality from Yamaha. Sounded like a much more expensive bass and at this price it's an absolute steal!!!
11. +1 for Bill being a top bloke! Buy with confidence chaps. Looks like a special bass this...
12. Just bought Brian's Yamaha BB1025. It's a no brainer dealing with this fella. Instrument as described, friendly banter, top bloke all round. Highly recommended ;-)
13. Guessing this has the side dots on the fret, as it was once fretless?
14. I've just bought Brian's Yamaha fiver :-) Brian is a legend to deal with, buy with confidence chaps ;-)
15. Indeed, just like Geddy's #1 - which he got stupidly cheap in a junk shop, I believe. What a wonderful example this is! GLWTS! ;-)
16. Definitely mate, goes without saying. Been thinking of getting a 5 again but just can't justify the spend. Gutted. Someone come and buy it and put me out of my misery :-)
17. That roasted maple looks good enough to eat!! Beautiful bass, GLWTS ;-)
18. I had one of these Bri ;-) Excellent quality P bass, you can't go wrong mate
19. No worries matey,I know what you mean. Got two of those early 80's beauties myself :-)
20. I have had many Yamahas that were made in Taiwan, don't be put off. I've found Yamaha quality is consistent across the board, no matter where they were made.
