  1. I posted one of the other promo vids above (https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/61774-show-us-your-playing-videos/?page=57&tab=comments#comment-3665537), here's the second one.
  2. What venue is this?
  3. Time and place for them. There's probably some places where you can hear people calling you a pillock over the sound of the PA... For functions and weddings stuff, it's a bit of good fun. The best use was when I did a gig at Battersea Evolution and there were big LEDs screens behind me... lights down on stage, spot on me... massive LED screen behind me showing a video feed close up on my fretboard. Pretty cool impact. That was some years back though now.
  4. This sounds like the makings of an excellent documentary.
  5. It's an all white GB Spitfire with the sound to light LED package (although they were static in this case cos they can be a bit much at times!).
  6. Ha - when I briefly lived in Derby, there was a guy... I saw was, I've just looked him up and he's still going strong... He looked like he was at deaths door when I last saw him. Still does it would seem. http://www.mickmoonshine.co.uk/ And yes, he does dress like that.
  7. Still no interest? Well, I haven't been pushing it to be fair... but bump!
  8. Aww. Where's his sense of humour?
  9. Ha! I don't think that would land well at most of the function gigs that we do... especially the non PC line that springs to mind. I think I've only played that song once... in a pub in Sutton Coldfield. I'd never heard the song before getting the setlist through beforehand. Drew up some cribnotes... but I remember the crowd reacting to the Gordon is a Moron bit - probably in a fashion not to dissimilar to what you seem to suggest!
  10. Stiff Dylans - the band from Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. Matt, the bass player (plays a GB Rumour too) in that band seems to be doing alright for himself since the demise of the SD (pretty much straight after the film release). Think he got the MD gig for Taio Cruz.. currently doing stuff stateside with Mike Shinoda. Top guy.
  11. It's cos its about embedded programming now. I haven't cracked these pedals opened... but it wouldn't surprise me if the physical boards in these pedals aren't very, very similar - the chips the same, only the code changes and all that.
  12. Ooh The Turtles - Happy Together! Probably memorable because of some advert on TV that I can’t remember what for. It’s like the Bellamy Brothers... Let your love flow - a sudden revival that everybody knows because of the TV.
  13. Aww thanks very much! The 90s dance stuff is very powerful. Funnily you should mention American Boy, that is defo up there in my faves to play - and I was only talking about it Friday. Not that I stay faithful to the original bass line by any means, here’s the same band with a dep singer at a festival we did (dump off the desk recording) - As you can probably tell, I err, have a bit of fun with it! (I think we all do) - Maybe I’m one of those people that doesn’t learn songs properly 😮
  14. When playing in a marble clad church turned wedding reception venue... "I think you need to turn down the reverb on your desk". As you can imagine, the desk was running drier than... well... Idiots.
  15. We do No Scrubs also - it's another banger that seems to get people excited. The bridge is wonderfully sublime too.
  16. Yeah man - bet that’s cool. Probably has the same reaction as playing Sex On Fire and I Predict A Riot (although I actually hate those two!)
  17. Been following your cab thread. Looks pretty sweet. Interesting to see the 15 on top !
  18. Just finished up mixing and doing the video for the latest band promo video... We took a bit of a risk on this one... because we love the song - and to be fair, everybody else seems to also... but it's a song that I've never heard any other band do live. Always a tricky one when trying to figure out what will work on the promo front. The jury is out on this one... The whole ethos of this band was to do modern dance and pop songs but giving them that definitely live vibe. This definitely remains one of our faves to play live and always seems to get people on to the dancefloor when we kick off a set with it. What are your forgotten gems that your band plays, to get away from the normal GeFF (Generic Function Fodder)?
  19. Depends upon the gigs. I have a reputation in my band for wearing slag trousers... they are black - but certainly not of the type that would be worn by a waiter. Some of our gigs, we kinda dress like the scissor sisters... others we may wear black and accessorise with tat like scarfs and the like. The lead singers are usually outrageous enough so there's no mistaking who they are. I always say to my band, if you walk in the room and the guests don't immediately know that you're in the band, you've failed. Kinda helps that the singers are both quite brave on that front... bodycon dresses, rubber, feathers, wings... and that's just the male singer.
  20. Cheers dude, very kind of you to say. You’ve inspired me to start listening to some of my old recordings to see what I’ve got - not necessarily to do anything with, just something to listen back to for fun!
  21. Here's the equivalent from a Mackie DL32R with my band. Only posting it as recordings from desks came up in another discussion I was having in facebook with a friend - and found some out. Always loved having a bass workout over this tune! As you may be able to hear on this recording though, there a bit of an issue with the essess on the female vocal and a bit of bleed into the vocal mics. Never really done much with the recordings that I do make - but I remember it saved my bacon once. We did a gig where the client stated that we didn't play for the contracted duration... so I gave them a copy of the entire performance and summed up the timings of the entire performance for them, even subtracting the times in between songs. Turns out that we gave them an extra 8 minutes 17 seconds for free.
  22. If they can make it sell, all power to them. They seem to be doing OK...? I'd rather have the gear being produced and have the decision to or not buy it (hopefully for the company others will)... rather than no gear produced.
  23. OMG - please don't let this become a thing.
  24. Ah - you're talking about john hornby skewes!
