3. how about the unison run in "gaslighting abbie" off two against nature? i spent a long time mastering it for my dissertation performnce.. but dropped when the keys and guitar simply couldnt work out the harmony parts.. have ended up was a very funked up version of josie i bet if i go back to it now the'll be no chance i can play it, it was always the last phrase that gave me troubles, just some very awkward hand positions, at least where i played it anyway lol, any ideas on that front?

9. I have a fretless 5str Alembic if that is any interest? or is it just fretted stuff you are after?
 10. Give all the pots a good working, if any feel loose, play while turning them/wobbling them about simple stuff, but its good to start simple

 14.
Unfortuantly not yet! I want my final quote and to have given the man some cash so I know its coming before I spill said beans! Plus im pretty sure a lot of BC'ers will not be that 'into' my design!
Why? its not got six strings and requires distortion to hide mistakes does it? Saying that, when i was at "shukerworld" i saw a guitar he had made.. was very nice
 15. If you wanna see sklar at his best.. Check out the Falling in Between (TOTO) live dvd.. His "understated" bass playing is amazing.. and he learnt the whole set in 5 days!
 16. I like singlecuts.. that warwick isn't the prettiest of the bunch though.. a long way off lol
 17.
Woah! I don't want to put people off getting a Shuker built! His basses are amazing and the amount of time it has taken to build my bass is purely an exception. Jon hasn't done fanned frets before and I'm happy that he's taking his time getting it right first time. There have also been other things which have caused a delay. Unfortunately it's very difficult to put across emotion in text and nothing I've written so far has really been a 'rant' as such. I'm still a happy customer Just very excited about getting a new bass to my own specification and I want it NOW!!
Yeah, i love my shuker bass, its amazing, and jon is a great guy. The problem is me i fear I'm just far too impatient to wait for a bass the way i waited for my jazz. I'mjust keeping an eye on his stock page to see if something comes up i like, failing that a nordy might be nice
 18.
Was it an Ashdown?
LOL no Although i have blown two ashdowns up along the way
 19. yup Send it back!
 20. The second fret in the pic labelled fretwear is barely non-existant from what i can tell. Thats the problem with ebay, you end up spending the money you saved sometimes on a load of hassle to get what you've bought into a useable state. I bought an amp once, first time it turned on it caught fire. Luckily i found the funny side beings as i only paid 20 quid for it!
 21. Theres a great lead sheet for this track here http://www.lucaspickford.com/transremark.htm enjoy
 22.
I. Play through an Ashdown. No note definition means that you can play anything and it will just be heard as a mass of wool-like rumbleish. Of course that defeats the purpose of you playing any flourish because it won't be heard. Nobody will be listening anyway. If somebody has turned up to your gig, they are there to watch the Ashdown burst into flames.
Any ashdown users, although i laughed heartily at this comment, i in know way condone or agree with the comment. No death threats please
 23.
never think about it.... too much thinking can make you tense-up. But if I couldn't rememeber the way out...I'd probably slap pat/slide for the split second it would take to pick it up..and I'd try not to compound the mistake so keep people guessing as to whether it was actually meant to be like that... I wouldn't respond to any of the looks from the band.. IF they were uncool enough to look at me with a WTF look on their faces either. Carry on as usual..nothing going on here etc etc ...
+1 on all that i find i only make such mistakes when i'm bored, and letting my mind wander. same as when i'm driving lol! Gives me an idea on a new thread: What do you think of when your mind wanders when you are playing a gig? And what thought patterns cause the most mistakes. Lets face it, most of the answers probably wouldn't get through the filter!
 24. Sorry for the seemingly random post, but my girlfriend is watching tv in Norwegian, and im waiting for my viewing of choice to buffer What do you do when your on stage, rocking away, Throughout the whole set you've been a good boy/girl and simply held down the low end (as per some job descriptions) and finally you reach that one song in the set that has that a gap between phrases in the verse that has the perfect gap for a tasty sweet little flourish of bass goodness... So the moment arrives.... You prepare yourself by contorting your face into a look of most utmost pain and concentration, and begin your moment of glory. The run goes seamlessly, you hit all the notes you planned to, from the octave above where you were all the way up to major/minor tenth (depending on mood) with your 1 bar of glory complete you descend your desired scale back to the deep end anddd.... Bang! Your mind goes blank and you have no idea what the next chord is.. you have mere milliseconds to: a. Try and remember the actual chord b. Try and remember the key of the track, and sit on that, with a superior look on your face so everyone thinks your just being clever and creating some sort of inversion c. Jump straight into another fill, maybe faster this time so everyone thinks you simply wern't finished d. Stop playing for the 1 of the next bar, drummers do it sometimes? why cant we try it? e. go for the 1 in 12 chance that any random note could be the right one (or at least work) or finally f. Just be sensible and not attempt any such things in the first place Any other suggestions to this problem would be greatly appreciated!
