1. Hey Everyone! the new rig is finally Done! Almost anyway Glockenklang bass art classic pre Dynacord lx2200 class d power amp Mark Bass 4x10 x2 (one on order) Sounds sweet, am using a UK made bass, so big up for european gear
 2. Dynacord lx2200 class d lightweight 1100 watts per channel thing... so light the glock preamp is heavier
What power amp are you using?
3. from what i tried before finding the fault yesterday it was one of the nicest bass sounds ive ever had, the parametric mid was very usable, love the a/b switching etc... altogether a very nice unit.
Always wanted to try the BAC. How do you like it?
4. Yeah its the bass art classic... think i'm gonna try and get them to give me some dough back for the repair, or the parts at least.. either way an email will be sent. Thanks for the support guys
Is this the Bass Art Classic preamp?
5. I got my Glockenklang preamp today in the post from Thomann. The item was described as "B stock" because the original package was damaged. So with over 200 pounds knocked off, i bought with confidence. Came today, sounds absolutely amazing, packaging was a bit ragtag, but was incased in a nice big box so all was good there. After ten minutes of testing through markbass cabs i notice the master pot isn't turned up at all... starnge. Basically the pot doesnt work, and as i start to turn it the cabs both start to die, and distort... horrible thoughts rushing through my head.. Luckily for me, My dad owns a PA shop, within 1 minute of looking at it he has deciphered the problem, master pot broken, which he will replace for me tomorrow. My point is, should i have expected this being as it was B stock, or should i be angry that the only problem mentioned was the packaging being damaged? At the end of the day, i am lucky enough to have a dad who is a master of all things soldered, who im sure will get the pre working fine, as this is preferable to sending back to germany.. so hopefully will sound great and be fully functional tommorrow. Anyway, any thoughts, similar experiances? J
 6. PM'd
And replied! Whole rig still available. Some interest in bits n pieces...
7. I do a module at university called improv... Really inspiring I use modes, not the obscure ones, just dorian and lydian, the pretty sounding ones. My favourite tool for improv is too create a backing track using loops on garageband, and just play and play and play! J
 8. I have ordered a glockenkland bas art pre amp, and have a shuker jazz with nordstrand pups in, so ill give you a shout once ive run it all together

I just scored a GS412. Mwahahaha Also, really, you need a pair before they really open up. And a third just about kicks you into Doom: Oh, and, er, does anyone wanna gimme a lift to Liverpool and back to Bristol?
12. my friend has the 1x15 you are talking about, it sounds great, but its not a comfortable one man lift... this if im thinking of the right cab
 13. Thanks mate, i feel much better really need some cab(s) i knew it was a bad idea to sell everything with no idea what to buy
Don't worry mate, I had one of these once and it was rubbish. (Was that OK?)
14. Not fair.. Aguilar 4x12 on ebay, just as a notice it someone buys it now for 300 quid... Please someone give me a bad review to ease my pain J
 15. nice bass, but i could see myself having a viscous accident with he wammy...
 16. Tokai with EMG's now that sounds proper
I've got EMGs in mine, and it sounds absolutely incredible.
17. With my Shuker i tell people exactly how it is... had to tell one of my university lecturers that it was a 21st birthday present and i'm still very precious with it, That and he didn't need to play the bass line to me because it was written on the page in front of me.. that he'd just given me..
 18. i have two oppinions of the basses you've mentioned.. 1. If you had kubicki and status before, maybe will be good to kep the whole 80's super instrument/headless vibe going, as you may be dissapointed wit the thumb.. 2. But the thumb is a great bass, and perhaps after a your hiatus it would be cool to go in a new direction not helpful i imagine lol
 19. One problem i have with the G&L's is that the quality just isn't consistent. Don't know if this was just me, but i have played 5, and owned one.. Some were great and others were shocking.. (all USA not tribute) Unfortunately the one i owned wasn't the best of the bunch. My problem with them is the electronics seem to be trying to be too clever, so when mine went a bit haywire, could'nt find anyone willing to delve into the maze of wires. Saying that the great ones were great, love the finishes they do. In my opinion, if you choosing between a tribute G&L and Stingray - stingray wins everytime. If you are choosing between USA g&l and stingray, try both and see how they feel.. i really would think twice about buying a g&l online without playing it... but you could say that about any bass :S i think im trying to say, try both guitars lol! sorry, ive confused myself
 20. If its the robbie i think it is, he's in measham, in the midlands... give him a call if you are interested, i dont think he checks this too often
Collection only from where?
21. this might be too basic in terms of features, but the summit TD-100 is a great preamp, sposed to be great for recording too. Class A valve and all that...
 22. Nice supermodels? is that the Kopo thats currently sat in my bedroom silddx?
Is it a valid point? I might question how long that inspiration lasted. In my case, it was inspiration that made me up my game and get a Warwick, I needed something reliable, ergonomically designed and versatile. I did my research, bought one second hand and it remains, most of the time, my number one bass. I have flirted with, and occasionally bought, cheap tarts, nice friendly girls and young supermodels, but really, the 'vette feels like an extension of me. It didn't really inspire me to play more much longer than a week or so. My bands inspire me infinitely more than a nice piece of wood with some strings on, as do my bass heroes.
23. Would you consider selling just the cabs? if so how much are we talking?
For sale : ag 500 head excellent condition, plus my two cabs : gs 12 and gs 1 12 (nt). this is an excellent rig as I am sure you know and in excellent condition. I would ideally like to sell it as a complete package as I need cash for a smaller combo. I live in NW London and would prefer it if you collected. Price is : £1200 Thanks Malcolm 07796854119 or PM.
