1.
I think this is being taken too far. a safe for work alternative has already been given. Do we really want to moderate this forum to make the whole site safe for work? There is a 'lofi' solution to your problem If you don't want to use it then you must accept the consequences.
+1000000
2. Gear Acquisition Syndrome For when you just gotta have it!
3. Bought a Bass off of Lozz -- Great guy, fantastic communications! Highly recommended!
4. Sorry to hear that you sold the drumkit and lost your way musically, but also conrats on finding that drive and enjoyment again -- I dare say many don't find it again! Welcome to Basschat, bud!

After only having PM contact with this man briefly, I'm sorry for the loss. He was one of the first people to contact me on here, and he did it for purely friendly reasons; no buying or selling, just a chat about musicians. Sorry, once again.

Any haggling to be done on the Bass Muff pal?
7. Year of manufacture mate? Does it come with a case and has it had any mods done, other than the thumbrest?? Also, what's the condition like??
8. Oh my... If this was red I'd bite your hand off.... I'm may have to sleep on it!
9. The Gibson Ripper is probably my favourite bass of all time.... Goddamn. Good luck on parting with these beauts!
10. Have you got the original tuners? What's the difference between these and the originals? Cheers
11.
Just curious to know if anyone played K-Fest yesterday on Lowestoft South Pier? I was holidaying nearby and caught a few bands early on...really enjoyed myself and loved some of the music! If anyone is local and didn't attend - try and catch it next year. Seaside, beer, music and a hotdog for £2.50 - what could be better? Cheers, James
KFest? Not the same Kfest that used to be in Newquay is it? It got cancelled the last few years because of Radio1....
12. I'm really interested, just gotta see if I can scrape the funds together -- I have a birthday coming up so hopefully that'll help!
13. Easily one of my fave drummers, his character and how much passion he has is apparent, even in those videos! Fantastic!
14. I was going to add something constructive to this debate but my mind turned red and all I want to say is this; I would wreck that chick.
15.
Further proof that we are just seen as the bloke at the back going 'dum-dum-dum'.
Whoa, whoa, whoa. We aren't just the blokes at the back going dum-dum-dum?! When did they change that? I feel the pain here, I really do -- I'm sick of the bum-deal we get in sound checks more than anything! "Play the bass.... Okay I'm getting a signal. Guitars..." It's literally that quick!
16. I don't listen to everything and there are certain genres I keep coming back to -- but I think I could adapt fairly well (not that I want to be a session player). You'd never catch me in a Gospel Church in Chicago but I'd love to be in that atmosphere and play that music! I think you are right, though -- it's just down to taste and/or gritting your teeth if you don't like it.
17.
Cheeky so and sos! I cannot believe they have moaned about the equipment! Just because I wouldnt store a £1K rig at a damp reheasal place! How dare they?! Not one of them play quality equipment, all cheap ebayed £100 guitars. That offends me more than anything.
Don't worry about it, man. Get your revenge with your ads, leave them in the do-do and move on! They sound like a right bunch of cowboys. Good luck for the future!
18. I think Davey's new look also helps a fair bit, it was a bit strange when she started looking womanly in the Love Like Winter video. The singer from my old band used to rip Davey off all the time, sing like him, scream like him, look like him, dress like him -- so much so when he went to the stage door at one of they many shows he's attended, Hunter came out and said "Hey, Davey, this guy looks more like you than you do -- come in", so he's met them around 10-11 times. Fantastic! I need to see them!
19.
Agree with all of the above. I really liked Sing the Sorrow and his tone is to die for. be interested to know if it comes across live.
Apparently so, I've yet to see them live yet. This is one of those vids where it's rammed but none of the audience seem to be into it :/ There's even some bass tapping at 1:23 but the dumbass cameramen didn't catch it!
20.
I love AFI... but I'm a 1999 - 2003 fan, Sing the Sorrow had good songs but was too over produced, most noticeably on the singles, and I didn't really like Decemberunderground. Saying that, I listened to Crash Love on We7 the other day and was much more impressed with it than I was with Decemberunderground. Always been a fan of Hunter's simple melodic lines, and yes, always had great tone, whether he's using a Jazz or Precision.
I love the stuff pre-1999 all the way upto Sing the Sorrow, although that's with different members. I didn't think Sing the Sorrow was that bad, although it marks their slide into "emo" which they're coming out of now.
21. I don't know if any of you out there are AFI fans, many people are fans but only certain albums as they change a lot between records. I love all their stuff up until "decemberunderground" and one song on "Crash Love" is growing on me. Although, with all this genre changing I find Hunter's bass tone to be fantastic all the time: 1999, All Hallow's E.P. 2003, Sing the Sorrow 2009, Crash Love What do you reckon? (and yes, it is the same band/same members in each video)
22.
+1 for 1mm Dunlops... I tried many a pick and hated picking before eventually settling on the black Dunlops, and am now reasonably competant. Stubbies have absolutely no flex and just kill my grip, even the 1mm ones. They may suit some folks, possibly with ape-like fingers and absolutely no sensation of pain in their hands
+2 for black Dunlops! Although I also use the red XL Jim Dunlops -- good solid pick as I find it it's too think or thin it can make your picking hand ache!
