2. Bump for a lovely set of basses. I've just gone thru the bass buying and selling phase. I've had up to 7 at once, now down to just 1!! Maybe at some point I'll get a nice fretless to match but I must say it feels quite liberating knowing that I just have to invest in my skill level now rather than worry about my collection, or lack of now!!
3. Sold my Status Groove bass 5 string to Benebass, great deal and very generous giving an extra bit of cash to make sure all my expenses were covered! Recommended to deal with anytime, Thanks.
4. Bump for back for sale, please note this is NOT going to be removed until it is sold!!
5. Hi all, just wondering if there is a fix for a slightly twisted neck. Bass plays fine but neck is slightly twisted and not sure if it should be a concern?
6. This one has a different arrangement for the preamp, it's only 9V and has only one preamp. The earlier ones had two pre-amps with a bass/treble control for each of the single coils (also two batteries, hence 18V). This one has only one set of bass/treble controls for both pickups. The other variant on this one is that the volume is a push/pull pot, when you pull it there is a pre-amp bybass to true passive (handy when the battery dies mid gig). The other knob is pickup pan. I could get some nice sounds out of it when I had it, the wenge neck helped on that aswell. Worth the asking price all day long IMHO.
7. Just bought a Warwick of Graham, very good communication, well packaged (with an old hardcase as a freebie for postage!) and answered any questions I had when I received the bass. Recommended and I wouldn't hesitate to deal with him again, Thanks. NB: After I had received the bass I noticed a problem that Grahamd hadn't when he owned it, I got a quote to remedy it from a luthier and Graham offered to pay for the cost, which he promptly did. Top marks for a genuine good bloke!!
8. Yeah, I like the line 'Invest in your bass ability, not your bass collection', just need to get on and do it then!!
9. I was just wondering if anyone else has gone through loads of basses since they set their eyes on Basschat? I joined in Feb (6 months ago) and just realised I've had really really bad GAS. I have been through a fretless Yamaha TRB 1005, a fretted Yamaha TRB 1005, a Warwick Jazzman 5 string, a Warwick Streamer Pro M 4 string and am currently settled with two different Warwicks. Hopefully these two will be keepers and my GAS will stop, if it doesn't does anyone know the cure??
10. Props for bass, if you like your 4 strings this is for you!!
11. That is awsome type of bump! Does remind me of a piece of military equipment though (I'm thinking of some sort of high powered rifle!) The 'bendwell' bit is beautifully done, hope it goes to a good home!!
12. Yeah, it's got a fairly powerful B string, the harmonics ring nice and clearly, the upper register is very clear and you can get a nice 'burpy' sound from it when you play over the pickup. It hasn't got an overly powerful midrange (compared to a Warwick for example) but is does sound good and plays really easily!!
13. Hello, I'm selling my Status Groove bass 5 string as I've recently bought another 5 string bass and can only play one at once!! It's definitley been used and has a few marks here and there on it, it's not a minter but it would make a very good gigging bass! It does play very very easily and it is nice and light for a 5 string with very good balance. Those of you who are familiar with Status know that their necks are some of the thinnest and easiest to play, no exception here folks! The sound is even across the strings and the B has some power to it. The bass is active/passive with the active having bass/treble boost/cut. When in passive mode there is only volume, however it is true passive. I'm going to ask for £300 ono, with that you'll also get a used (read a bit battered) Hiscox hard case (there is no branding on it, just nice and plain). You'd be more than welcome to come and try it out (Huddersfield, West Yorkshire), I'd be willing to post but only at the organisation and expense of the buyer. Tell me your thoughts please, James. 14. PM'd, if it's still available I'll have it please
15. I play in a church worship group aswell, my main aim is to try and funk it up as best I can though!! On a more serious point I think it's one of the best places you can play at, but I am aware that this thread started advertising a P bass and is not 'who plays at what church' thread. Anyone want to start one?
16. That is just fantastic!! I really dig that jigsaw style!!
