  1. Yup it was! I had all this work done by Jon Shuker when I managed to snap the truss rod! I think tbh it's probably at least as good, if not better than when it left the factory spec wise. The neck was thinned slightly when the fingerboard was taken off (front to back) and a new higher spec trus rod, wenge fret board with some very well installed and finished stainless steel frets were added. Jon does some great refinishing work. The body had another blue tint applied over it to hide some previously done body surface damage, the neck also has a light coat of PU on it to prevent it from shifting in the future. I sold it on here for a while back for peanuts!
  2. .... lol, reminds me of Letters of a Timewaster ha ha!
  3. Now sold folks, thanks for the interest. Please freeze.
  4. Hey all, Matt just bought my Double Bass for his instrument collection, no worries all around! Peace.
  5. Hey there Pazza, I've been having some lessons with Paul Baxter (https://halifaxbasslessons.wixsite.com/halifaxbasslessons). He's a pro upright/electric player and knows his stuff very well and teaches in the Norton Tower area of Halifax. Peace, Jim.
  6. I use a Radial bigshot i/o instrument selector (passive) and I also have a Radial Tonebone Bassbone (active with EQ and DI) for that purpose. Both great quality, the passive one is a lot cheaper mind you!
  7. ... my personal favourite of all the Limelight I've seen I think, GLWTS
  8. Now considering trade offers for a lightweight head of some kind (Genz Benz Streamliner or Shuttle, Aguilar TH, Markbass etc) plus difference in £ OR a passive 5 string Jazz or P type bass with cash +/- depending. Hey folks, I recently got this double bass on an impulse after wanting to try one for a while but my time is better spent elsewhere I think. I bought it from it's original owner a month or so ago and they had bought it new a couple of years ago. It's in very good used condition with only a few minor usage marks, please see pictures below (there are actually very few marks on it, the light appears to give it a few more!) The front is solid whilst the sides and rear are laminated. It's on the smaller (and lighter) side of the 3/4 size so more easily transported and carried about. I'm just over 6 ft and with the endpin out, standing height is perfect. If you want to try out the world of Double Bass this is a good intro to it and a fairly inexpensive one. A padded soft case, stand and bow are also included in the sale. I'm asking £575 £450 firm collected from Halifax, West Yorkshire (or could meet up within reason) and any questions please just ask. Now considering trade offers for a lightweight head of some kind (Genz Benz Streamliner or Shuttle, Aguilar TH, Markbass etc) plus difference in £ OR a passive 5 string Jazz or P type bass with cash +/- depending. Peace.
  9. Yeah, I first had lessons with Pete around 18 yrs ago now. I seemed to gel with how he taught and he was/is a great player as well!
  10. This is a resurrection thread of an old tutor of mine, just wondering if anyone knows if he still teaches or not?
  11. Amazing build there, looks more well built than most commercial stuff I’ve seen!

  13. Martyn just bought a Warwick Jazzman off me. Paid before picking up the bass and there were no problems with collection. All fine and wouldn't hesitate to deal with again. Cheers .
  14. This bass is now sold folks, mods please lock thanks
  15. I was so tempted as I love British basses and particularly the Perception model, however I already have 4 Warwicks so couldn't justify it, next time hey!
  16. Nice build Luke, will be nice to see it when it's finished.
  17. Rich came over the hill to pick up the fretless jazz today. Good comms, on time and a nice chap. Wouldn't hesitate to deal with again so a BC recommend from me. Cheers.
  18. TTT and a price drop. If this doesn't sell at this price (I've got lots more in this than what I'm asking unfortunately) I'll end up keeping it folks.
  19. Now sold thanks, please lock.
