1. Got a new pedal yesterday. Electro Harmonix Slammi pitch shifter Had a little play with it when I got home Slammi one octave up (max shift set to 8) dry (set to 0) into metal muff = really great fake guitar Think I'm guna like his one
2. Hey Pitchard, that's a great cover. can you talk use through your fake guitar setup. it sounds fantastic. really loving Royal Blood at the mo and would love to get there sound.
3. Sounds like an interesting day. So long as im not away with work I could bring a couple of shortscales, moded and home built valve amps. Will put it on my planner with an alarm or two
4. I use my VS112 as an extension cab with my BG250 2x8, lovely warm fat bottom end. I was going to sell the vs112 along with my CTM15 as a mini rig but think it has to stay now. I have a VS115 too, but the 208 sounds better with the 12. Funny coz my home built valve amp sounds wicked with the 15 on its own and the 12 dose nothing for it alone or with the 15! just seems like the 8's work well with the 12.
5. Never ever fire up a valve amp without a cab connected. you will blow the output transformer or damage the power valves due to the impedance mismatch. For amp testing we use what is known as a dummy load (an amp tech will normally make there own) No cab connected = many £ spent!
6. Nice P, I have a MIJ 62 reissue in the photoflame finish, got it from Navada music in portsmoutth last year for £250. Its in great nick, just a couple of small marks. 93/4 according to the numbers. Very light as there a basswood body, great neck. Got ground round wound strings on mine and it's so sweet to play.
7. Thanks for the heads up guys, im guna have to go n try one when Absolute get there stock in. Rang them today and they are expecting 20 to come into stock. they seemed a bit surprised when I told them that hot rox had it in stock.
8. I woulda gone home soon as I got it lol
9. ok mcnach you have had half hour to play so come on, out with it !
10. I have tech 21 xxxl bass works well. Bass big muff deluxe again works well. Zvex Mastotron, just got this n love it. And a metal muff, this sounds great too but loses a lot of bottom end, works well with chorus and smallstone though. tool 46 n 2 awesome. Ps I bin trying to think of that song title all weekend.
11. working fine on my android phone and bg250 208
12. How soon can one of you guys get a demo up on youtube?
13. I have a 250-208, its a great amp and you can add an extension cab or two so very versatile. Great eq too. Toneprint and a tuner. Works great with pedals too. I have had trace, ashdown, line6, peavey, roland and fender amps. Both tube and solidstate and this seems to be the best sounding so far. I stack it with my 1x12 or my 1x15 cabs for extra fatness or on its own at home or jamming at friend's houses. Very lite too at 11kg. Mainly play rock, metal, punk but its just as at home with a bit of ska/reggae n dub. Basses are 62 re issue P and pawn shop mustang. I dont slap much though. But when all is said n done there is no substitute to going and trying as many amps as you can, but the key is to take your own bass when you do.
14. have a bump, these are great amps. can you belive I bought one last week
15. my advice is once you have your bass (and the squire CVs are very good as are all there better basses) take your new bass with you to try out amps. I have found that is the only way as not every amp suits every guitar n vice versa. I do however recommend you go and try the TC electronics BG250 2x8 (I have one and its great with my 62 re-issue and my pawn shop mustang) it is one of the few combows you can use with an extention cab, sounds great at home and is only £250 new, theres one in amps and cabs secondhand too
16. I have seen an led light kit in city electrical , programable and sound to light.
17. Hey Basskit-case is it the same head as the CTM15, ie one or two preamp valves. Ashdown web site says 2 x 12ax7 in pre ? the std CTM is just 1 x 12ax7 in pre
18. price drop bump £250 inc uk mainland postage.
