1. There was something slightly wrong about watching Baby Metal at Soni earlier this year, but I have to say they had an awesome bass player ! n im sticking to that as my excuse for taking so many pictures
2. Had a play last night and this evening . this is so much better than the B3 I tried. some really good OD / distortions too. mite have to get another one , sounds really good with a bass,
3. Sorry guys but im not able to come down now! Work has to come first unfortunately and I have been summoned. :-(
4. Picked up an M5 this afternoon, had a little run through it. The verbs are very good as are the choruses. There's some other cool stuff too and some that ain't lol. Tuner is spot on. I think I'm going to have a play n see what is usable. I did try a zoom B3 a few months back but I dont like the multi fx/ patches thing and to my ear the effects on this sound closer to traditional pedals. Its super easy to use and it not to big (about the same size as my deluxe big muff) at 89 quid new with a psu included I recon its a bit of a steel. Rite, time to try out the distortion's . Lets see how long it takes before I get a complaint from the neighbours lol
5. Guna go get the line6 m5 and give it a go
6. gess the question should have been which has the best verbs as that will be the primary function. The other effects being a bonus and do the verbs match up to a dedicated pedal ?
7. That would be the plan, just set n forget so I can use it like a normal pedal. Never get on with the cycling through patches thing.
8. I was going to add a second reverb pedal to my board but it occurred to me one of these mite be more versatile for the same sort of cost. Thoughts please
9. Vox do a bass with a built in amp, the apache I think
10. Sellisnba I have one two, fitted flats on mine. Its a great feeling , sounding bass but as you say the P pickup dose dominate. I have been reading good things on here for the Entwistle pickups, very good price so mite try a set in mine when I get paid. Just love candy apple red basses
11. Antk I haven't giged this amp myself as I'm not in a band. Long story but bad hands! Anyway gigging it would depend on the band , style of music and venue. I did see a guy gigging one at a local pub not long before I got mine , sounded good but may have been using the built in DI. Was looking for a new amp at the time myself and seeing/hearing that band influenced my purchase and the price drop. Personally I play mainly metal and punk with friends at home or at our factory unit when we want to make a lot of noise and I can keep up ok. Guitarist has an AC15 and a lot of pedals! I add the 1x12 just coz I have it, but it dose add a little more umph to the bottom end. For my taste its not lacking anywhere in the sound spectrum. The EQ is active, cutting and boosting diferent frequencys on all control's. Boosting the bass controle pushes the low mids and seems to make the amp much louder, just a little tip. It sounds better with my 12 than with my 15 IMHO. If I where giging I would use an extension cab, not so much for the increased volume but as it lifts the sound wave and therefore is percived as being louder. There is a reason why the speakers in big venues are up in the air. like I said earlier in the thread, take your own bass when you go to try amps out but not your wallet, try a few before you decide and purchase from a large shop. Most offer at the least a 7 day return/30 day exchange policy, (check this with the shop before any purchase) this will give you the chance to try with your band and thats the only way your going to know what will do the job. I like the guys in my local shop but they dont do this so I dont bye from them. hope this helps
12. My best advice would be take your own bass with you, but not your wallet when you go to try amps out.
13. I have a tc bg250 208, pluging in a second cab gives you the full 4 ohm load ie 2x8 plus second cab. Love mine plenty loud for a small gig I would say and in my humble opinion the best sounding of all the amps suggestions. And 250 quid is a steal. So far as reliability goes no probs so far and had the bh250 head before this with no problems too. Tone print gives you a lot of tonal choises that non of the other amps or combos can even dream of. So look at this way for 250 quid your getting a nice 2x8 cab, a 250 W class D micro head and half a dozen very useable effects , bargin! If you add a switch 3 pedal you can switch between to effects and it still dont owe you 300 quid ! I stack mine with an Ashdown VS112 , if your near bournemouth come and give it a go or i'l be at the south west bass bash on the 31st with some bits n pieces
14. Don't ignore the EHX Neo Clone and Small Clone, both sound great. I sat down for two hours in Absolute music with there entire range of chorus pedals and although I had a budget of upto 200 quid I walked away with the Neo as it had the sound I wanted with min fuss . I have a TC combo with tone print and love the chorus on that too but I still think the Clone sounds best.
15. Vintage cream pearl white pearl or black I think my fav is the cream
16. I had a little go with one at absolute music a couple of weeks ago, thinking I'd like one but don't know what I'd use it for lol. Maybe a third channel into a third amp with an AB/Y from my fake guitar loop and my bass loop ?
17. That B9 is a real interesting pedal, hows it working out ?
