argh! and the first photo arrives.. didn't put my order in till half 6 yesterday. so probably another night for me to wait..
Like kids in a sweet shop, the lot of you!
 2.
Since joining this forum I have been very curious about this bass cab company.
Never heard of 'em. Who?
 3. Brilliant, guys, thanks - I think I can sort myself something out now.
 4. I'm doing it with my newly acquired TC Electronics preamp into my Trace 200W head. Works fine and will do until I get my power amp connected at the weekend.
 5. I'd write it down to experience. It could even prove to be a cheap lesson. Whenever anyone else asks to borrow gear (or borrow anything, actually), just tell them what happened to your Epiphone.
 6. The question's in the header really. It looks like i need some kind of short, right-angled box spanner to adjust the truss rod on my Yamaha BB. Can I get this kind of thing from an ironmonger's or do I have to ask Yamaha?
 7. Bought a TC Electronics preamp from Chris, who sent it express to make sure it didn't get held up by the impending postal strike. A gentlemen if ever there was one. The preamp is great.
 8.
Are you saying my offer was insultingly low? Don't think so!! It might have been disagreeable to you, but it was fair. :brow: D.
Sold my Behringer last year on here for £15. That was fair, too.
 9.
Tubular Bells - main theme. I think it's 4/4 with one 3/4 bar every other time through so it drops a note.
My transcription has 7/8 with an occasional bar of 9/8 thrown in. Sounds perfectly natural, which is the main thing.
 10. I have a dozen packs of Neutrik phono plugs that may be of interest to those who make up their own cables for recording. This is a pro product, extremely robust with an effective strain relief design. Very easy to connect. Made from machined brass with gold-plated contacts, they look the business, too. New and blister-packed in pairs. Cheapest price I have found online is £12. So I think £6 a pack is a good deal. Here are a few sites with more details: http://www.hificables.co.uk/10791/Neutrik-...o-RCA-pair.html http://www.commsandsound.com/neutrik-nf2c2...ir-18186-0.html http://www.ukdj.com/index.asp?PageAction=V...mp;ProdID=15884 Say £2 for postage and packing but I'll pay the postage on four packs or more. I'd consider swapping some of these for a set of lightweight 1/2" tuners.
 11.
Yep 2 weeks old fitted but pristine its just too damned hot for me. Bought for £45 now £35 + £2 to post. Or if you have a neck position Vintage Jazz fancy a trade
Seymour Duncan has an exchange scheme that allows you to exchange a pickup for another of your choice if you buy one and it doesn't work out. Nobody ever takes advantage of it, but it was there last time I looked. Your dealer should be able to swap it for you.
 12.
i wouldn't want anyone drunkenly leaning on my stack, toppling it on some unsuspecting punter, or even worse, on more kit, <snip>
Good to see you've got your priorities right!
 13. Two dozen now sold. I've got 3 x NP2RCs left, which I can make up to half a dozen with 3 of the newer, slimmer type pictured here: http://www.soundmastersdirect.co.uk/images...oads/np3rcs.jpg (but mono ones). (I'll also be putting some brand new Neutrik phono plugs up later this morning for silly money.)

 15.
£110 collected from the NE and that includes the Speakon to Speakon leads and covers!
There are some quite extraordinary bargains flying about at the moment.
 16. I have a couple of dozen right angled jack plugs, model number NP2RC to distribute. These are new old stock, sturdily made to last for decades with a solid cast zinc alloy body and very effective cable chuck. They are absolutely the best jacks you can buy. They had a cable connected at one time. The story is that they were made up into leads but a batch of cable proved to be faulty and the jacks were cut off to be reused, but never were. Apart from that, they look brand new. Here's a link: http://www.studiospares.com/Connectors/Neu...lky/invt/578290. I'd like £9 for six or £6.50 for four. That includes postage and the extortionate fifty pence or so that I will have to fork out to PayPal. These are not the cheapo Neutriks, by the way. You'll never see them at this price again - so perhaps it's time you replaced those horrible tin plugs on your leads.
 17. I'd just say that whether they can get a refund from Fender or resell it is irrelevant and not your problem.
 18. I have an Seymour Duncan SJB-1b for sale. This is a very popular pickup - so I'll dispense with the superlatives. Details here: http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/bass...jb1_vintage_fo/. A couple of details for the sake of completeness: I filed the corners of the bobbins slightly to get it to fit in a Yamaha cover (you can hardly see it) and carried out (professionally) a minor soldering repair to one of the leadout wires. It works perfectly and the repair will last as long as the pickup. You can't tell with the Seymour Duncan cover on (supplied), and it measures and sounds perfect. In the original box with screws and wiring info. Sorry for the stock photo. I'll get my camera out later. NOW £19 plus £2 delivery. I must be mad: r.r.p. is £65. I'd be interested in swapping this for some lightweight 1/2" tuners with money your way.
 19.
I did a gig recently using la bella flat wound strings on a EB Stingray 5.
I've got flats on my Yamaha BB and love the thud. I can't imagine flats on my Musicman copy though. Anyone else tried it on a MM?
 20.
Hi Dancing Queen sorted now. If anyone has some sheet music for the above songs, I'd be more than grateful for a copy.
Sean, if you PM me your email address I'll send you the piano versions with lyrics. They're in PDF, about 3MB each.
 21.
And a pic.....
pm'd
