  1. I purchased this from GaryMac a few years ago but I’ve barely played it. The text and photos below are his, as they are extremely accurate, but I am happy to provide additional photos on request. This is a truly superb example of a P bass. Great build quality and weighing in at a very shoulder friendly 8lb 12oz. All original and everything functions perfectly. The finish is lovely, just a few dings and the paint job is still vivid. Pickguard is not buckled, just the very common crack adjacent to the output socket and plenty of pick marks . Nut measures 42mm. Frets are all good and the trussrod works as it should. Neck pocket is nice and tight. Pot codes dated 38th week of 1974. Neck end stamp. 0103-1255. Which is: P bass. Fretted maple. 12th week. Friday. 1975. The case, which I believe has always been with this bass, is an older and rarer one, issued between 1967-71. The condition is exceptionally good and the catches all function properly. It also comes with Fender hang tag and the original owner’s manual. I don’t want to post. I’m happy to meet halfway or for it to be collected. No trades thanks Revised price £2,400.
  2. I’m running an ABM600 IV too but mines rack mount. I’m not getting a lot of noise from the fan. I prefer it marginally over the RM800 II and it does seem to work better with my Barefaced 610, but both amps are ace.
  3. I have mine set at the 9 o'clock position, just for a bit. As Spyder says, I also don't like what it does to the sound above this position.
  4. Given that the year is of sentimental meaning to him, do I tell my Managing Director that the 1972 Precision he thinks he has, has actually got a 74 neck and 73 pots?🙄

Only if he wants to sell it to you.....

  5. Done this too on my RM800 Evo II. Several times. First time, like you, I bypassed to the PA. A headphone button was never on my long list of things to check, until now! Glad you're sorted.
  6. I’m running a Super Twin, a 210s and a 610s. Not at the same time obviously. But I am seriously thinking of moving the Super Twin on in favour of another 210s because I just love the sound of the 10” speakers. So everyone’s different!
  7. This is why I don’t like it! I always need the setting between the two 😂
  8. I'm gutted. Bought one when they first came out and paid double that! It's an absolute bargain at that price, no idea how they do it...
  9. ... and I'm using an RM800 with a BF210 in rehearsals and smaller gigs and it keeps up fine. I find I'm now using the RM800 with my BF610 too in preference to my rack mounted ABM600...
  10. And they work well for my drummer too. the one's the singers bought were terrible.
  11. I think get him to try some decent in ears and he'll never go back. Tried this with two singers who both bought budget sets and hated them, another bought a more expensive set up and it suited them better. Poor quality In ears can ruin the switch
  12. Nice cabs these. Black shoe polish for the stain and marks , trust me….😏

  14. This is a genuine limited model built to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Precision Bass, very different from other 2011 models that also sported the commemorative neckplate. The spec is as below. I have swapped out the pickups though, and it now has the superior Fender Custom Shop 62 split coils installed. I can swap these back if you'd like but the price will stay the same. The case and case candy are original and it's pretty much unmarked. You can see it's a transparent blonde nitro finish. The pickguard is single ply and the bridge string-thru. I don't have scales at the moment so can't tell you a weight but I don't think it's over 9lbs. I'll try to get it weighed soon. I would like it collected or meet halfway within reason. If you really want it shipped then I'll have to find a box etc. No trades please. Price is firm. 60th Anniversary Precision Bass Colors: (768) Series: Limited Anniversary Edition Body Shape: Precision Bass Body Material: Ash Neck: Modern C Shape Neck Finish: Lacquer Fretboard: Graphite Reinforced Maple Fretboard Radius: 9.5 (24.1 cm) Frets: 20, Medium Jumbo Position Inlays: Black Dot Position Inlays Scale Length: 34 (86.36 cm) Nut Width: 1.625 (41.3 mm) String Nut: Synthetic Bone Truss Rod: Posiflex Graphite Neck Support Rods Truss Rod Nut: 3/16 Adjustable Hex Nut Controls: Master Volume, Master Tone Hardware: Chrome Tuning Keys: Fender/Hipshot Vintage Keys with Tapered Shafts Bridge: HMV, High Mass Vintage, (Strings-Thru-Body or Topload) Control Knobs: Knurled chrome Pickguard: 3-Ply Black/White/Black Incl. 15. I find the Ashdown Tonepocket very very good.

I went through this too. Sansamp Bass DI, Tech 21 Fly Rig, GK Plex, Tech 21 VT Bass DI, Fender Downtown Express, Darkglass AO Ultra... Eventually settled (for now) on the Ashdown OriginAL. I just love the sound that thing puts out.
  17. Yes exactly this. I have a small section that I keep with the RM800 in it's bag. If I take the amp out of the bag then this grippy matting stops it vibrating off the cab.
  18. Very impressed with mine. Sound quality excellent and any latency unnoticeable. The battery does last for hours and hours - I reckon I can get 14-15 hours worth. The connecting cable does seem rather flimsy though, compared to instrument cables.
  19. Bought a Stomp from Frank. Not only was it a great price, but it came with extras and he even delivered it to my house. Great comms too. A perfect gent and a perfect transaction.
  20. I grew up in Nettleham! Lovely village. Great amp, I have one too 😊
  21. Yeah agree with you there. I’ve still got mine unused in it’s box. I thought I’d keep it for use as a DI as it actually sounds pretty good, but then I got the Ashdown OriginAl pedal which is brilliant and not looked back.
  22. Rebadged Sunn amps that used to overheat If I remember correctly! and it was only 1200w at 2 ohms....
  23. I'd be really disappointed, frustrated and angry. This was my bass, customised for me, not an off-the-shelf purchase that the retailer can send me a second one of. I'd be frustrated that it is the job of USPS to deliver stuff safely and they've lost it. Just lost it, with what seems like no apology or real effort or care for an item that is mine and that they have no idea how much value I place in the item. I'd eventually get the money back and wonder if I wanted to go through the whole process again. Then the bass would turn up.
  24. Is delivery out? I would take it if you could post it!
