  1. Thanks! I did try some SD Quarter Pounds too but they were far too boomy so they came straight out!
  2. How do you find the Nordstrands in the 5? I’m finding they’re a bit more mellow than anything I have in my four strings….haven’t made my mind up yet…!
  3. I prefer the Hotcovers ones. The padding is awesome and I ordered mine with a wrap around flap that effectively covers the whole amp.
  4. With the EVO V I now have double this anxiety!
  5. Yes. Well maybe just you and @BassAdder60 😆
  6. No not got round to it yet - still on my list of things to sort! Bruce got it sorted on his..
  7. Has it got a rosewood or other unsealed fretboard? Murphys Oil Soap to clean and de smell it, and then fretboard oil..
  8. The only way around this I have found is to find a file that plays 100% of the time on the Tascam and compare its properties with one that doesn't, then changing the newer one to the older format. The Tascam is pretty old technology (last firmware was 2010) and it is not keeping up with modern encoding, so 44.1kHz and 320kbps or smaller. I always used 128kbps max. It even struggles to use larger memory cards so you have to stick to 32GB cards max.
  9. Thought so, thanks. Is this a new thing, both in the same wire?
  10. Should be a simple question, I think. Dropping these SD QPs in to a 5 string. Is the hot and ground now combined in one wire? I'm used to two separate wires! Thanks
  11. Fender Elite/Deluxe Dimension V ? Good Stingray sound from the bridge pick up. Lovely neck. 19mm spacing at the bridge
  12. This is a game changer. So easy to control my own mix, in stereo, even whilst playing. It's brilliant. Thanks to @EBS_freakfor the recommendation.
  13. Same issue here. I use small white 'letraset' type transfers over the original dots from this chap https://www.rosetteguitarproducts.com/new-page-2 I have a thumb on back of neck style of playing so I don't rub them off but if you grip your neck like a baseball bat then I'm not sure this solution would be a long term one!
  14. Mine is fine. It flashes on and off. Is your VU needle moving?
  15. How are you measuring these? my 2020 MIA Precision 5 string definitely has 19mm spacing.......
  16. If I recall, @Chownybass had to make a slight design modification to their basses of this style following some pressure...
  17. It's lovely - covered it off a bit on this thread.
  18. The EQ settings have a significant impact on the input level and therefore the needle. Boosting anything will mean you having to back off your input which is what it sounds like you have to do. You could always cut instead of boost if it's an issue? And there's no way around the compressor. It's the same on my EVO V. I asked Dave Green about it and he said it was normal!
  19. Is it possible to get the internal gubbins put in to a new custom mould or do you need to pay for a complete new set?
  20. I used JMB for the first time to see if there was anything local to me after moving house and now I'm with a great bunch of people doing exactly what I want. Their ad was very clear and specific but they told me that they did get a load of useless replies before me. I have noticed that there a number of people that post the same ad over and over again on a weekly basis (for months) looking for a band with no success. Assuming they do actually contact bands that are looking to fill positions (and not just sitting back and waiting for people to come to them) then the number of knock-backs they must have had must be huge.
  21. Yep I agree, mine's 19mm. So's my 5 string Dimension...
  22. My 72 Precision has a 40.8mm nut. Depth of the neck at the first fret (not including the fret height) is 22.4mm. It feels very similar to my Nate Mendel and his is advertised with a 41mm nut width and a slim C profile...
  23. Yep quite normal. I've never ever used the active input. You'd only ever need to use if if the output on your bass was so hot that it was overdriving the input even at its lowest setting. Maybe if the bass has active pickups (as opposed to an onboard preamp/active circuit)....
