1. I don't need to list the specs - we all know what it is! Has been racked and has seen minimal use (maybe 10/15 gigs). You can't get these anymore. I am selling all my rackmount and heavy gear due to a back problem and this will have to go too. Comes in original box, with power lead x2 (UK and Euro), rack screws and manual. Pretty much as new, just a couple of scuffs on the casing. £150 + postage As usual, no trades, promises, spouses or girlfriends, root vegetables or Ashdown stuff. cheers Steve
2.
bump
I use DR Sunbeams 45-105 on my 4003, with zero neck relief. I like the sunbeams for feel, clarity of sound and longevity. I have tried a lighter gauge but always come back to the 'medium' set. I use the same strings for my Jazz and Precisions but the Fenders are all adjusted with a small amount of relief.
3. Given that all you need is for your drummer to clearly hear your synth player then you've a number of options, I think. You can take a monitor feed from your desk if you've got one spare that's just got synth in it and send via headphones/wireless monitors to your drummer, or using a mini mixer, take a feed out from your synth and route it to a set of headphones for your drummer. Using the MIDI signal won't work as you've got nothing in the chain to interpret the MIDI. If your issue is mainly timing the drummer to the arpeggio then you could just send a click to the drummers headphones/earpiece instead.
4. Very good price for a lovely cab, but you might just have to wait a while to find the right buyer as I think the general trend is moving away from big heavy cabs. Stick with it mind, as I'm sure someone will be tempted.
5. Sold pending collection and payment
6. I'm selling my Ampeg 6 x 10 bass cabinet from Ampeg's classic series, with high frequency horn and attentuator. It is front ported, with wheels and a loading handle which makes it remarkably easy to transport. It is in very good condition, and has seen frequent, although not regular, use. It is rated at 600w rms, 1200w peak. More information is available here. Ampeg's 610HLF page The buyer would have to collect as I no longer have suitable transport for it, hence the reason for sale. Cash on collection is preferable. The current retail for this is anywhere between £850 and £950. I am looking for £450. No trades needed, will not accept offers of chickens, root vegetables, spouses or siblings, or any 'will you wait till I get paid three weeks from today?' or ' I will have this after I've got rid of my Ashdown [insert name here] that I've been trying to sell for two months. Cheers Steve
7. Ok Neil, thanks for that - I'll hav a trawl through evilbay to find it. Steve
8.
Reduced now, so bumpy bump.
Neil, Im interested in this, can you post size and weight if possible? Also, do you have rough estimate of age? Thanks Steve
9. I use a MXR microamp immediately after my tuner. I set both bass outputs on full and adjust the microamp to match the outputs of both basses - I switch it on when I'm using the less powerful bass. This way I have the same signal level going in to the rest of my signal chain so I don't have to muck around with gain level on pedals/amps etc. Also, it's worth looking at your set to identify guitar changes and plan accordingly if you can, for smooth transitions.
I have to admit, after extensivly using the Ampeg VST plug in, i really am coming round to that tone...
Yup, but you'll be using an amp model as well as a cab model, rather than just as cab as per the OP. Out of interest, which combinations [in the plug in] work for you? I'm using the 4Pro and the 410 cab settings and it's fantastic.

Excellent, that's your cab sorted. What amplifier are you using?
12.
4x10 has been sold (Cheers Steve!) No one want a Lightweight Eden for not much money?
That would sit perfectly under my RS410 combo and the price is top. Location is a problem. Could we discuss about sending it? I'm in Peterborough. Cheers Steve
13. What's your band set up and how much of it do you want to put through your PA and how much are you relying on the backline?
14. Some bass bins have inbuilt crossovers fixed at certain frequencies (I think 150k is common). Everything above that is filtered out and can be passed though to the tops. The better but more expensive way is to take the desk output, feed it in to a crossover unit, then take one feed out to an amp feeding the tops (set at your desired frequencies) and one out to an amp feeding the subs. This allows you to independently control the output of the tops and the subs.
15. Hey Jamie, I've got the book too, and having seen your playing (one or twice), best you read it... haha only kidding mate... Actually it's not bad, to be honest! S
16.
hiya steve, so does that mean you can't adjust the tempo mid song?
With this unit you can, but as far as I'm aware, not whilst it's playing. I stop it, then tap, then re-start. If this unit can do it whilst playing that would be great and maybe I've not read the instructions well enough, but I get away with it at the moment cos I'm using small loops for parts of songs.... cheers Steve
17. Forgot to say, drummer couldn't hear loop when we tried it that way round so locking in was difficult and it could change the tempo of the song, so matching the loop to the song was the best way. it works most of the time!
18. I use a Digitech JamMan. It has a tap tempo function so I tap one pedal couple of times before I activate the loop using the other pedal. I've also loaded prerecorded stuff on to it via the memory card and wanted to use one channel to send a click to the drummer with the other channel going to the desk but couldn't cos it's mono out, so I use a mp3 player for this. cheers Steve
19.
Close-ups of truss-rod access and fingerboard wood. Thanks for all the info so far, whether any of it turns out to be Fender will be interesting. It is superbly finished and has a real "piano" tone to it. The neck is as nice as any I have seen on a Precision.
I had an 83. These are the thing I noticed. Tuners are incorrect - with this logo they should be covered gear tuners String tree incorrect type and placement Neck - truss rod adjustment should have a dark surround Body - should have 14 holes for the single ply pickguard Pickups - defintely not Fender and should have white covers anyway Neck plate - should not have Fender Corona, just Fender Colour - should be ivory, black, sienna burst (mine was) or brown burst Apart from that, looks fine. Steve

I run mine in to an amp and use the EQ on there
21.
Its a synth pedal so makes lots of nice noises. I don't think they are made anymore and so are quite collectable but I may be wrong. Steve
I think you're right Steve, given their apparent rarity. It would seem that they are not quite as sought after as some would believe, however
22.
Pics aren't showing?
I can see them fine, Chris. cheers Steve
23. Ask (Jamie) Tombboy, he had one and it was beautiful and he knows a lot about em!
24. I always said I'd never sell this (sorry Mike) but a not to be missed opportunity has come up and I need to liberate some cash to fund it! So, here it is, a 2003 Lakland Darryl Jones, in Pearl, with tort scratchplate, maple neck with blocks, fitted with 45-105 DR Sunbeams and a J-retro preamp. It plays beautifully I think the pictures speak for themselves. I'm looking at £750 with the J retro - if you don't want it then we can come to an arrangement. It comes with a good gigbag. here's the pics. cheers Steve
25. Fairly obvious what this is but I've added pictures anyway. It's used and has a few scrapes but all the sounds work fine! Power supply is euro 2 pin but any 9v will work. Original box, manual and stickers. Now, the sale of these things for some reason is often contentious on here so I would ask anyone who is interested to send me a PM. I have a price in mind and will sell to the first person offering it but I don't want to start up a whole thread of "that's too expensive, you're off your rocker" sort of thing. Mods, if you feel that is unfair then just let me know and I'll reconsider. No trades please, nor offers to buy "three weeks next thursday when I've been paid and managed to sell my plywood bass" etc.. No chickens or root vegetables accepted (those of you in the Fens, you know who you are). Wives or girlfriends considered but must be accompanied by pics. cheers Steve
