  1. side question to @Reggaebass - any idea what this was exactly? I need a CAR touch up! thanks
  2. I think we all know what this is. It's the current model with the graphic EQ, separate pre and post DI outs, three cab sim slots, aux in, headphone in. It's in as new condition, maybe done 4 or 5 gigs tops. It comes with the original box and paperwork, the included single button footswitch, the extra super intelligent footswitch and the carry bag. Total new price would be just short of £1,200 at the cheapest prices I can find.
  3. D'addario D strings are black normally, Fender's are nickel.
  4. Did a full three set proper gig outdoor last Saturday. I mentioned elsewhere the pub had really sorted itself out, with roped off areas for each group prebooked, no walk-ins, table service for food and drink, security and one way systems in and out and toilets etc. We had a good deal of space given to us so we could socially distance between us. We hadn’t played since mid March so we were a bit rusty but it all came together. Chose the more straightforward songs from our list of songs. Load in, setup, take down all pretty much normal, but again, the pub had really prepared well for us. it was great to play again, albeit it very strange as the audience numbers were there but the feedback you’d normally get from those numbers wasn’t.
  5. I'm the other way round. I bought the OriginAL (Norman version) and now am looking to buy a RM800...! It's a balance between input gain and output level. The output seems to act as an attenuator rather than volume, so fully clockwise is unity, if I have input at 9 o'clock. Probably worth a discussion thread on this pedal rather than hijack the pedalboard thread,
  6. Possibly - depending on how venues/we interpret the next lot of ambiguous guidelines!!
  7. ..and in that time recorded two guitar parts that fitted in really nicely without being too ostentatious. I liked the lead part at the end.
  8. That'll be a nice gig to get - lovely people there.
  9. No, that was supposed to be on 4th but they decided not to go ahead. This was in Yaxley..
  10. were you there? In your little roped off area?
  11. There is a significant amount of ambiguity in the 'guidelines', Non-professionals (meaning those participating in performing arts other than for work purposes), or groups which include non-professionals, may refer to this guidance for their activities, but must at all times do so in line with government legislation and guidance on meeting people outside your household. So is getting paid by a venue classed as work? Can you still perform outdoors if you do it in line with "government legislation and guidance on meeting people outside your household" ?
  12. The venue we were at had masked up security patrolling the pens to enforce compliance.
  13. We played an outdoor gig on Saturday. It was good to play but the audience was split out in to roped off pens with table and chairs that each group had to stay in - their food and drink was brought to them. They had to prebook their pen. They could dance within their own little area but it was quite strange.
  14. Which bit are you referring to for this?
  15. It's a Surface Pro so not the ideal laptop for this sort of thing I would imagine - it has a very specific supply and a magnetic latching connector. Yes I was using XLR-XLR. This is clearly an obvious answer, one I did not even try and now that I have, it works perfectly!! I'll explore the ground lift adaptor too as I reckon that's maybe what @owen was suggesting.
  16. I have a few preamp/DI stomp box things that are powered with anything from 9v to 18v chargers. I have two USB interfaces connected to a PC, not both at the same time. (a Focurite Scarlett 2i2 and a Presonus Audiobox). If I use the DI out from the preamp in to either interface there's a earth buzz. After a process of elimination I have found that this earth buzz goes away when I disconnect the laptop power and have it running on battery only. Any ideas why this might be and whether it can be resolved? thanks Steve
  17. Basically, what @Osiris said, he nailed it. I do wish it had a headphone/aux though. There's a neat touch that reverses the OD/Compressor path that can change the OD flavour a bit and you can also turn off the LEDs if they're too bright. You can alos select what gets output by the DI. I really like the EQ section though - it is very similar to the Rumble heads.
  18. It was more rounded, warmer, less sterile both in the FOH but more so in my ears. I’m not overly critical or sensitive normally but I did switch the sim out and then back in and it was really noticeable. The only reason I used it in the first place was out of curiosity after loading in the IRs over lockdown. It was a 3 Sigma Ampeg 810 I think.
  19. I just did a three hour gig this evening. My Darkglass M900 has got cab sims and for the first time ever I switched it in and sent it to the desk. The difference was amazing, especially in my IEMs. I’m converted.
  20. I just tested mine. Buzzes when charging using the supplied PSU until I touch the strings then it goes. I've noticed this a lot when using headphones in gear that uses a 9vdc power supply (although this is 10v), not just the Tone Pocket. I took another instrument lead from the line out on the Tone Pocket and plugged it in to an amp, buzzing gone. I don't think it's only the Tone Pocket that does this.
  21. Lovely preamp with tuner, compressor, five different types of overdrive, five different GK amp voicings, DI, USB, aux in, headphone in, effects loop. New these are over £300. Original box, manual, power supply included. It’s as new and never gigged. I love the feature set but I’m just not a GK sound type of person. postage is freeee! thanks Steve
  22. If you check my post two back the bit in bold tells you the official date - 11th July.
  23. The published guidance "We have developed a five-stage roadmap to bring our performing arts back safely. These five stages of the phased return to performing arts are as follows: Stage One - Rehearsal and training (no audiences) Stage Two - Performances for broadcast and recording purposes Stage Three - Performances outdoors with an audience and pilots for indoor performances with a limited socially-distanced audience Stage Four - Performances allowed indoors and outdoors (but with a limited socially-distanced audience indoors) Stage Five - Performances allowed indoors / outdoors (with a fuller audience indoors) On the date of publication we are at Stages One and Two of this roadmap. This means that we are now supporting musicians, dancers and actors, and the technical and operational teams that support performing arts production, to safely resume training, rehearsals and recorded performances where organisations wish and are able to. Dance studios can also reopen for professional dancers and choreographers, and should follow guidance on indoor sports facilities. From the 11th July, we will move to Stage Three. This means that performances outdoors with a socially distanced audience can take place in line with this guidance. "
