  1. Might I suggest a J East P Retro onboard preamp. You can push the mids when you need to, have the scooped sound when you need it and go passive if you need to. Brucie Bonus is that the tone control works on both active and passive modes. No mods needed to you bass either.
  2. Is this a heavy one or a light one?
  3. It's here. Very quick look and noodle at lunchtime suggests that it's very well put together with no obvious issues. It sounds great so once again I may just leave it as stock per my JJB-300. The neck is great and definitely different to their Jazz bass as I had thought that they might have done just one neck for both (like the Squier Silver Series basses). Mine is just under 8lbs (3.6kgs) so super usable.
  4. I fitted the J-Retro to this bass when I owned it. Straight swap, no issues whatsoever.
  5. For sure!
  6. They are great, mine is a gold one! 70s pickup spacing too.
  7. I've noticed both the Jet P and J basses have better higher fret access than the F@@@er items. I might have just accidentally bought one of the Jet P basses too
  8. Oooh, I hadn't picked up on a Jet P bass. I now have bad GAS so thanks for that I love my Jet JJB-300 (weighs in at bob on 4kgs) and is still un-modified after several months.
  9. The Graft J Type I recently acquired is soooo much bass for the money.
  10. Apologies folks, I committed a sin of omission and forgot to add my newest 32" scale acquisition to this thread. Strung with Long scale EXL170BT strings. Here's the NBD post:
  11. As I understand it from Alan at ACG, the finish is gloss to start with and then is carefully rubbed down to the desired satin/matt finish. Maybe it's different for higher production volume basses...
  12. Definitely quite nice!
  13. Here's a good one. Plenty of player commentary too:
  14. Indeed. My ACG P bass has something that looks very like a fat humbucker but is in fact a split coil p/up.
  15. I've always really liked the early 90s Japanese-made Squier basses up to the end of the Silver Series range. Cracking instruments for c.£300ish.
  16. Hi folks Have any of you good people dabbled with the LHZ-03 HazLabs Preamp Clone as a replacement for the Tone Pump Jnr? I'm contemplating updating my Pulse II with such a thing, but would like the opinion of the BC collective before jumping. They are selling them at Bass DIrect: https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/lhz-03-hazlabs-preamp-clone/
  17. Hi folks For sale is this Line6 wireless system. Dead easy to set up, in good condition and and all working fine. I tend to use it for sound checking mostly and revert to fall cable for the gig (just in case). Battery life for the transmitter is about 50mins for me. I don't have the original box/paperwork I'm afraid. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking
  18. Although didn't he say that he made his finest Post-It notes later on in his career?
  19. Do you not mean the Pete Wentz SBMM passive Stingray?
  20. I'm only now beginning to realise what a lucky escape I have just had.
  21. No sorry, but give me a few minutes...
  22. I'm really not sure. The have black silks, but only at the tuner end. All the ball-ends are gold coloured.
  23. Great idea @ped, I will adopt forthwith.
  24. Pssst, want to buy some post-it notes. VGC, one careful owner...
  25. Yeah, I have done the string cleaning thing already. They are in pretty decent condition so highly tempted to leave them on the bass.
