  1. Tomas has just acquired a bridge from me. Great comms and so easy to deal with. Many thanks.
  2. I'm afraid that I have absented myself from social media in general apart from BC (and LinkedIn that I have to be on for work annoyingly). So not sure that I can help much there sadly.
  3. Great bass, and extremely tempted. Is it wrong to own two Spector Legends from different eras in Black Cherry?
  4. For sale is my 1983/84 Squier SQ Precision Bass Made in Japan. The bass is in very good condition and was acquired last year from a fellow BCer. I records very nicely and it's fair to say that it has not been a case queen! The SQ series were built alongside the JV models and were the MIJ equivalent of US basses of that era rather than vintage reissues. Japanese build quality, nice and light with excellent necks. Usual specs of Alder body, Maple neck and a particularly lovely dark Rosewood fretboard. This one is all original apart from the strap buttons, control knobs and pickup. This has a Fender Original pickup that sounds great paired to a Kiogon loom. I’m afraid that the original electrics are long gone. The neck has been gently sanded by a previous owner to create a less glossy finish and as a result is brilliant to move around on. The neck blemishes have been drop filled and can barely be felt under the hand. It’s a lovely instrument and weighs 4.0kgs by my scales. There are some minor cosmetic dings and marks but nothing structural. It’s a gigging workhorse and great as a main bass or backup. The bass will come with a Gator case and is currently strung with Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Flatwound JF344 strings. Any questions please let me know. Collection or meet up preferred, but postage will be considered (at extra cost obvs.). Here are some pics. What can I say, it's a black bass so tricky to photograph.
  5. Definitely look for a headphone amp, or a pedal with a headhone socket. Maybe check this thread out:
  6. That's one of those vids that just make me hide my fretless basses and pretend I only play P basses due to my (more apparent now) talent deficit
  7. Great album with some really well chosen (fretless) bass parts.
  8. Calling @ash who has himself recently had surgery on his hand.
  9. Torn between McCartney and Duran Duran, plumped for the latter in the end.
  10. Just acquired some strings from @green3101. Great transaction, item exactly as described and speedy despatch. Great comms throughout, deal in confidence folks.
  11. Yes thanks, ended up being a full refund and no, not a Pulse II although I was sorely tempted. Still on a Spector theme and, having given up trying to find my original Legend 4 (with the 3-band preamp), I found an NOS Legend Classic in the same lovely Black Cherry finish with Bartolini P/J pickups that is light as a feather so loving that atm.
  12. Just acquired a beautiful gig bag from Gareth. As ever an immaculate transaction, thanks again.
  13. I've never been so insulted in my life In short, I have no idea, sorry. I normally adjust to suit the output so as to avoid clipping, but that's about as scientific as I get.
  14. Just acquired a lovely Maruszczyk from Ryan. Great bloke to deal with, excellent comms and a lovely bass. Given plenty of time to try the bass out with no pressure and a nice coffee to boot. Deal in confidence folks.

    Feedback for Davi

Just acquired a nice fretless bass from Davi. Great comms, the bass is lovely and everything went very smoothly. Deal in confidence folks.
  16. Currently have two Limelights, both excellent, both exactly what I asked for down to the different neck treatment I prefer. One was a 'normal' style that LL do; the other was (still is maybe) unique. The only Limelight with a one-piece Alder body. Both comfortably within 12 weeks. Hardware relicing is much different now to the early examples and you can ask for what you like too. I requested very lightly aged hardware which is exactly what I received. All the screws are fine and turn without any difficulty. I'd have another tomorrow.
  17. Nice, who makes these basses?
  18. Geeks, so much better. CTTE is the first LP I ever bought and it still gets a lot of play at ead towers. I still wonder how you ever go about rehearsing that song from scratch. New Yes, very lame and I'm a massive fan of the band and have lost count of how many gigs I've been to over the years.
  19. A return to Ash towers occurred last night, necessitated by the need to hand over my SB14 to Ash in exchange for some bass vouchers. Why not a P you ask, and indeed this is a fair question. I can only assume that the impact of Ash's current much diminished P bass stock had adversely affected his judgement. I understand therapy is now happening and that normal service will resume in due course. It was, as ever, a completely painless and excellent transaction.
