1. The Sex Pistols bootleg 'spünk' (this has Glen Matlock on Bass from the Denmark Street recordings etc. For Never mind the Bollocks Matlock only played bass on two tracks the rest were done by Steve Jones, as Glen was sacked by then and replaced with Sid who couldnt play a note)
 2. For £50 you wont get much, if you need to buy new. But Peavey are a decent name: peavey max 126
 3. out of that selction id chose between the Ibanez or the Squier. The Ibanez is probably better for your choice of music, than the Squier Jazz
Cue Alex on Spl at 3.7 inches, cab efficiency, Relative colour of tone, smell of the cone paper etc For me it's all about how the whole package sounds and works in context. In my 40+ years of playing I've used Peavey 1x15 combos of many kinds for many years (and other stuff) and they all sound louder in a band situation than their published wattage might suggest.
Yes those old Peavey's 15inch Black Widow speakers dont half give it some waft. The heatsinks inside are massive alluminium slabs comapred to today as well.
Don't Behringer use PMPO instead of RMS?
Now thats just being cheeky infering I'd fall for the old PMPO trick. Thats for people who buy there HiFi from Toys R Us. At the end of the day output Watts are irrelevant really. Decibels are what really counts.
That's rather like my Combo 300 BW but with a less knobby eq section. What's the output?
Its 135 Watts. It sounds almost as loud as my 450 Watt Behringer though, go figure? Maybe old Watts from 1979 are worth more than new 2009 Watts ?
 8. possibly the last good thing to come out of Denmark Street was the SeX pIsT0ls You will notice the Pistols only had the best in guitars and backline. The Pistols base and rehersal room was in Denmark Street (possibly number 6?) Steve Jones famously stole many guitars out of Denmark Street shop window displays. Glen Matlock got caught with a bass that Steve had just nicked and given to him, after he wandred straight past the shop with it under his arm. He had to say he'd bought it off a Turkish looking guy, and as he could draw he gave the police a sketch of a very shady looking Turk with a big droopy mexican moustache!
 9. can you not get this info from the squier/Fender websites? They do parts lists/diagrams in pdf format. for instance go here. Fender american vintage deluxe and click the parts list on the lower left of the page then pick whichever you want. Basses are about half way down the page
 10. does anyone know the best place/price for Rotosound trubass black nylon strings? UK or USA thanks

 12.
Not with pedals.
i have just looked it up. He uses Rotosouind trubass black nylon strings on his very heavy Pecision bass. He also sometimes used a delay pedal.
 13.
The right hand slap is the ones got me beat, it just sounds like someone has thunked a hand down on four piano notes together. Any help anyone? Am i sposed to hit all the strings or just the E string ?
DUH sorry i meant the LEFT hand slap has got me beat. Anyone got any tips ?

 15. I couldnt do it at all till i got my new Squier CV jazz, now i can do it on all my basses. Go figure? Think i wasn't bouncing back off quick enough. Im ok on the E string but if i try to slap the A string i end up hitting 3 strings together.
 16. I know what a B flat is, but today i came across what appears to be a B flat flat?! I was printing out some chord charts to learn when i came to C diminished 7th and the notes for it were C, E, Gb, Bbb. and the Bbb was in the place where the A note should be on the finger chart. Whats all that about ?
 17.
Ever wandered why Wilko's stage persona seems other worldly?
Whos the guy at the top ?
 18. This may have been mentioned (i have not read through all 85 pages!) but some of those pedal boards must be worth more than the basses ? Some of those boards are so complicated, even more wires that the back of my computer/audio visual/tv setup, and thats saying something. ps: anyone have any old pedals they dont want send them my way, im not proud. pps: how does JJ burnell get his sound ?
 19. You should name them, as if they have done it to you they will in future or have done it to others. Its best other bands in the area know all about it.
 20.
I had some GFS pickups in my P and it growled like no other. If you can wait for them to make the journey over the pond, they are a total bargain!
Yeah the SD's are good but expensive, I have heard a few people say the GFS pups are a bargain and still good quality.
 21. These are sposed to be good~: guitarfetish.com or maybe go the route a lot of people take and get some Seymour Duncans GAK Seymour Duncan page

Here is my Peavey 260C MKIII combo (with top handle) it has a metal badge on the bottom of the front stating 'Made in the USA 1979' (just below the B&W equiped) It weighs a ton, lucky its on wheels. It has two inputs that can be used for either just two passive bass, or a passive and active bass. Also a built in compressor.
