  1. I think someone predicted a few weeks ago that this would start dropping in price, and lo and behold - GAK, PMT and DV247 listing it at £389 now!
  2. Line6 G75 for £160 at Andertons - they also have the G10 for £109
  3. Tuff cab paint is £14 for 1kg, which will do several cabs - so isn't mega pricey. However, if you can get some fabric that looks like it will do the trick at a good price, then give it a go. You will need to find a really good contact adhesive.
  4. I used a Fender Rumble 200 head at a rehearsal studio the other day - highly impressed. Sounds like you've chosen well for your situation!
  5. I'd say avoid. For the amount of time you'll spend doing the covering, buy some decent stuff.
  6. A lot of the cheaper vinyl type stuff is quite soft, and you can get scrapes/nicks in the surface quite easily. The upside is that it's a bit more flexible so that makes it easier to get round edges etc. The better quality cab covering have a tougher outer layer which will be more resistant to scrapes and tears - but can be harder to put on the cab in the first place.
  7. Watch this space - @stevie has now got a CNC flatpack kit prototyped for the 12" cab (which debuted at the South West Bass Bash), so hopefully he will be giving more info soon!
  8. Nope - standard maple plus what looks top be more like rosewood/rosewood substitute - here's the very neck in original form plus some very clever staining
  9. The bass was made by Mike Walsh (Zoot). I think his old official trading name was Iceni Music, and with this being a different model from his standard Zoot basses, he branded it based on that rather than the Zoot name. I think he has subsequently decided to keep to the Zoot branding for all his builds, though.
  10. Nice - shame, as I was hoping it was a more Jazz nut width, but it's still very tempting - fantastic price!
  11. Dare I ask.... what sort of weight, and what's the nut width? Oh, and is there any switching between pickups?
  12. Have to say I didn't spot the cab I'm afraid (too far back at The Roundhouse to see too clearly), but spiffing gig all the same!
  13. I think you'd have to look at the design @Phil Starr demoed building - dimensions 35cmx45cmx23.6cm, (compared to the 45cm x 42cm x 28cm of the BF cab) but add a tweeter - maybe the one used in v1 of the cab - rather than a compression driver with horn.
  14. Having said that, I am sure that Andertons have had the 212 and 115 at those sale prices last year, then they went back up to full price again. IIRC, the 210 wasn't on offer that time either.
  15. Even better! Inlaid in a swift pattern I hope......... (ducks for cover)
  16. All innuendo aside, I think if I were having wooden knobs, then the walnut would be my choice to contrast with the purpleheart. However, gold as per the bridge sounds good to me.
  17. The bevelled edge look is working for me so far.... hope it works out!
  18. I have a feeling they have been discontinued, though would be delighted to be proved wrong.
  19. I have to say I'm not generally a fan of singlecuts, but that shape is looking really good.
  20. ...oh, and the only reason I got the purpleheart is I found a great deal on it on eBay - was as cheap as any other hardwood decking.
  21. We're moving house on Friday, so I shan't be oiling my deck before then! Here is is back in the glory days, soon after initial oiling ...
  22. Rob Gilmour arranged it. Yes, Mike was there and brought the Zoot along - IIRC it was a Boudicca.
  23. The decking in our garden is purpleheart. Looked stunning when it first went down, but it has gone back to a silvered grey. When I give it the annual careful pressure wash you still get the purple come through a bit, but the decking oil can't hope to preserve it against the weather. Bloody heavy stuff - particularly when in 3m lengths....
  24. No, there should be two - remember that cutlist is for 2 cabs. It was the order of the cuts - what I currently have labelled as Cut 11 needs to be done AFTER cuts 12-15, as you need to have removed the 417mm long parts before you can trim the remainder off to 387 to form the K and L braces. Altered on my master now anyway, so I don't forget.
  25. I was only able to do these because of the work that others had done before - I have just been chopping things around and rejigging. Just spotted a slight glitch in the cutting sequence on the cutlist sheet, but will correct when the final crossover is added.
