1. Be interesting to see how it compares to the TB1000. Possibly more versatile. I'd also like to see a rear shot to see whats going on. orange sleeve extra....hmmmm.....
2. Graham, I believe the peaking is fine on the shuttles and is a sign they are going into their power management mode. I think there's something in the manual on it but when I had mine I recall it was nothing to worry about and quite normal. I don't have experience with the streamliner though. Merton, lovely stuff! Looking forward to it!!!
3. Yeah, plus 1 to the midget. It adds a great level of 'growl' to a compact and I think it would be exactly what you're looking for if you consider the Compact to be dark. Righteous rig that, loved mine when I was running it.
4. There's a rat tail in the for sale section at the mo.....GET IT!!!
5. Hi I'm not using these so off loading. as the title and pictured. Cheers
6. Pretty wide spectrum I expect you'll get in responses. Any particular tone you have in mind/ not happy with at the moment? For Grundy aggressive distortion, I use a tech 21 Xxl and love it. Aguilar Agro was a close second though. I slso have an Sfx micro fuzz for fuzz. Probably changing it up for a cog fuzz soon though. I've also previously enjoyed a turbo rat for distortion and a tech 21 vt bass for overdrive.
7. Yeh, the slammi and wah look pretty....weird to me....I'm not sure I could deal with a floor rocker......are there any other designs out there like this?
8. Ah man, looking forward to your thoughts on that when its in hand! When are you expecting it Andy? Lefty, that's lovely looking pedal!
9. Interestingly (to me anyway) last night when mucking around with my amp settings, I found this pedal sings when the preamp valve is bypassed. I love the valve OD, but with the meatbox in tow, it losses its punch somewhere - not sure if it maxes out the pre amp tube or something, but the gutsy punch it adds it more lacklustre. Also noticed the cones moving a fair bit on a low B - not quite uncontrollably, but getting there! Gonna pick up a thumpinator just to clear up a bit of excess that may be hitting my amp. Absolutely love this pedal, as do the guys in my band
10. Gain is set to around 11 o'clock, master set to around 11/12 o'clock. I also have a fuzz in my chain the ramps the pre up a bit. Not excessively loud, or running the amp hard. EQ is set reasonably flat with a bump in the low mids and bass slightly cut. There's a fair bit of cone movement, which is acceptable apparently, but might go the thumpinator route anyway. I normally give it a few mins to warm up whilst I'm setting up. If heats the only danger, I'll keep an eye on it. More headroom would result in less heat though wouldn't it?
Ashdown amps usually come with a fire extinguisher, didn't you get yours..? [JOKE]
Ah, that's what they're for! I was led to believe they were for bashing people over the head with if they diss'd Ashdown!
11. I think a thumpinator May also be in order....
12. Cheers guy's, it's actually 35Hz territory. Running a barefaced big twin 2 and Alex has said it can deal with it quite happily. Tonight at rehearsal it did get pretty warm actually, although the fans dint kick out a great deal of warm air. I guess more headroom is the answer then? Maybe upgrade to a 1300 watt head or something.
13. Hotter than normal, but I wouldn't say excessively. Is that the indicator?
14. Hi all, bit of an idiot question today I'm afraid. I'm running an ashdown abm 500 and throw a lot of lows at it with my effects set up - lots of30 hz sub etc. is there any danger that this will cause damage to the amp (pre or power stages?). I'm waiting to hear what ashdown say but thought I'd ask the wise here whilst waiting. The vu meter runs flat out when everything engaged......

16. Cheers man, that was the plan, thanks for the heads up on the vox though. Bummer about the pa.
17. Had a pretty extensive exchange with Tom at cog effects today. Pretty extensive cause I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to effects! The outcome is I'm now awaiting a Cog grand tarkin which will become my one and only fuzz. Really excited as based on the discussion with Tom, it'll suit my board and band really well givi g me a nice deep, big sound. Anyone else put orders in and waiting at the moment?
18. Hmmm, that's pretty interesting. I've got a gig in a couple of weeks - I guess it'd be sensible to have a word with the venue tech beforehand. Interested in sis response on the above.
19. I went for a 212 in the end for portability - only one cab to shift and same stage footprint. It also means I don't have to make a decision gig time about what rig to take (which I like) and it fits in the boot of my car perfectly when I drive to gigs. Sound wise, bill knows best
20. I tried a fair few collapsible trolleys when carting my gear round London to gigs on the underground. I eventually settled on something like this as the others kept breaking and a decent trolley and ties makes wheeling a rig around a real joy! http://www.mpdirect.co.uk/p/18262/silverline-100kg-sack-truck Still using it today to get my rig to the local and back!
21. What is it with this forum and handles!
22. PICTURES!!! I demand pictures or this thread is 1) worthless or 2) a dream!!!
23. Surprised noones mentioned Berg yet. I have limited 610 experience - played a peg that I thought sounded huge. If I was in the market I'd definitely have bergantino on my list, budget dependant.
24. I used to use rogue from time to time and enjoyed it there. Decent enough gear, space and people.
