3.
One of my best sounding and playing basses I own is an ESP 400 series jazz, seen in the below picture .....
Reeason I mention them is the current or last Guitarist magazine has a feature on the 1st Living Colour bassist and he's playing a red Jazz ESP.
4.
I own an Edwards bass made by ESP Japan if that counts? http://www.espguitars.co.jp/edwards/am/E-AM-128QM.html I have the one in Black Cherry. It's purrrrrrrrty and the output has more headroom than my Ibanez ATK!
Beautiful!
5. Just thinking about this. I bought a 2nd hand Fender Jazz for £320 and I think I could get my money back anytime. If I'd bought new it would have been about £500 and I'd immediately lose money. So, what is the best deal you could do. I personally think it is second hand. A guy in my work left the Army and there was an auction on his last week. He's a drummer and he bought a cracking Pearly kit, a Roland keyboard and a 1981 Fender P-bass in natural for £60 (sixty quid)!
6.
I had a surveyor bass, took me about six months to sell it on here. Cracking bass but could'nt get used to its looks.
I like the look of the natural surveyor.
7. Get the faded and relic it naturally by playing it! Noticed McCartney's 'bass player' uses an SG.
8. Look like stunning big beasts too! Derived I know but bet they play great! Would love one.
9. Scroll down: http://www.backalleymusic.co.uk/contents/e...ss-Guitars.html £99 My school just got 2 and they are really good for the dosh - inspired me to get my Jazz set-up properly!
10.
Assuming your bass has grub screw knobs, the part you need is No. 099-0831-000 (genuine Fender) from Allparts.
Cheers mate!
11. The tone pot on my Fender Jazz sits proud and means that the previous owner has added a nut to let it 'sit right.' I don't like it, so I bought 3 CTC pots to upgrade but then found there were already 3 like that in it! (I'm a fool!) When we went to put the tone pot in though, it still has a 'too long' shaft and the shaft is notched. Can someone please link me to the exact tone pot that should be used in a Fender Jazz MIM 2008?
12. I've had a shot of a Ken Taylor in natural with the maple neck and it was beautiful. Felt like a merc beside a chevvy...
13. Not as good as this deal: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=79377
14. 2 weeks ago I was desperate for one.....bought a Jazz now you swine!
15. Tell the singer that in his case, his face needs an aggressive sound!
16. Now I know his avatar is his slippers, I think Rock God might be pushing it! Still - £20 for a set up on my Jazz bass seemed too good to be true. And it was, it was better than that. He went well beyond what a normal set up should be and even pointed out another wee flaw along with how to repair it myself cheaply. The bass is playing as good as my school's Westfield now (in-joke, see other threads) and I am delighted. And then, I get a shot of his James Tyler bass, Jackson bass, Valentine's Encore bass, Sei bass and some other thing like the Forth Road bridge. Finally, he offers to help my school set up all their guitars for a price I cannot share! Top man - I wish him well. Highest recommendation from me.
17.
Whilst browsing fleabay for a possible cheapish 5-string, I came across this rather interesting looking beastie which is apparently a Hutchins Calypso. I've never even heard of 'em, much less seen or tried one, and the Hutchins site says not a lot about 'em... Anyone know anything about them, tried one, heard one...?
I know nothing but there are 3 hutchins basses here: http://www.forsyths.co.uk/guitars/basses Love the look of the Prince one!
