1.
Do Nuts Wear Down?, Looser and Lower
Such a promising title........ The answer is 'yes' due to friction.
 2.
on hold pending usual folks.
Good stuff - was perturbed at the lack of movement on this wee beastie.
 3.
This may sound sacrilegious to the fans of the Rickenbacker 4003 (of which there are many I'm sure), but I'm giving serious thought to selling my almost new Midnight Blue 4003. Why? Apart from the fact that the I haven't been able to play it much since the string grooves in the nut have been cut too shallow making playing anywhere below the 5th fret a real finger-aching exercise, I can't say I'm blown away by either the quality or the sound. I've been hankering after one since the 80's and now I've got one, I feel a bit disappointed. It's actually made me appreciate just how good my BB414, which cost one tenth of the price of the Ric, really is. I have some nut files slowly making their way across the Atlantic and I'm sure that once the nut and the action have been sorted, it will play like a dream and I hope I'll be able to rekindle the relationship between us. Watch this space (or rather the Basses For Sale forum )
World's worst sales pitch..........sorry to hear that. I am currently down to a Yamaha BB414 and it really does just about all I need. The neck is slightly too wide (I'm a J, not a P handed dude) but in a funny way it makes you focus on playing the song a bit better!
 4. Hey Jez - were you watching Andy Murray out your back window today?
 5. Both look cool, what's the problem? You like, you buy. You no like, you no buy.
 6. I don't have the dosh but I'd trade my Yamaha BB 414 in an instant for this beauty......wishful thinking!
 7. Good lad this and I have had a 5 minute ply on this bass. Mightily impressed.
 8.
Hello from another new Tanglewater dealer! We have only received one bass so far and are looking forward to another 4 around June time. Chris May has been in for a visit to give us the low down on everything, he seems to have big plans for the range. We've just taken some nice pics of the Contemporary J Series 5 String we have in stock, you can view them here. More info here.
Good shop - I have no connection but the guys in there are great helps.
 9. Just start the songs in the order you want. The band will join in!
 10.
BB Kings bass player with the reddish-orangey TRB1005
There was a gentle irony there - like, so f**k it's a Yamaha!
 11.
Morrisey's bassist had the coolest. Was it a Hayman?
Me too! Great sound from it - that's progress!
 12.
oh come on lets argue about something FENDER BASSES SUCK U2 ARE BETTER THAN PINK FLOYD MICHAEL EAVIS IS SECRETLY KILLING OFF TORIES WOMBALS ARE RACIST
Not very secret - was it?
 13.
was it a shergold or was it a hayman ??
Hey man!
 14. Professional just means you get paid for doing what you do. All the talent in the world means very little if nobody really wants to listen to you. I remember really looking forward to seeing Stevie Vai and my mind wandering after a few songs is they were not 'tunes'. Serving the song is always better than pleasing your own musical self.
 15.
yes sir you are right, good night all im off to some toilet venue to watch my mates perform
Tell us more........ ....ps - I'd give it about a day before I'm proved a hypocrite slagging someone! eg - Did not like friendly fire but wondered if it was a Basschatter playing as there was a Peavey T40 bass on show.
 16. Musical taste is so personal that I try my best not to comment on other peoples as it makes you look like a slevvery, rabid twit!
 17. Young boy from Paisley on just now!! His mum and dad have a good chippy too! Nice white Gretsch bass too!
 18. I'd let my original 62 jazz bass, 57 P bass, steinberger and steinberger cello e-bass burn. And I'm not just saying this for the future insurance claim...............
 19.

Sheer class!
 20. I'm a big fan of the Edge and I thought they played safe but Bono himself said it was the 1st time in about 25 years they had not been playing to 'their audience.' Looks like they did do a 'greatest hits' set but in the context of a festival, I thought it was spot on. Now Adam, if you are looking in and you have a spare CS bass........
 21. When I was younger, I envied his burds! Now I'm older, I envy his basses! What does that say about both of us!
 22.
BB414, obscene value for money, Orange ones look the part too
Agreed - P have the black pearlescent 414 with matching headstock. Great black strings and a growling sound. I would love an orange one though!
 23. Aye - Adam is winning the gratuitous bass change award on the first day! Love his purple custom shop P-bass though!
 24.
It's a Shergold
Sheer class playing a shergold - Solomon Walker - a Fender Artist!!!!!!
