My strap is also adjusted so that the height of the bass is the same sitting or standing, so seat choice isn't too important.....but noodling in the garage this makes amp tweaking a breeze. 😉

What model is that?

I think the 'wood' question simply boils down to just how 'stiff' the nut to the bridge is.....which is why some wood combos can be perceived as darker, more flex between the two points, brighter being less. PS Maple wins on looks though. 😉

Great to hear they are still going, I'm sure I bought three Westfield B1000 P basses from there, back in the day. -

I've been told, but I ain't sure, Eskimo... There is no decoder to break out the year etc for Korean Spectors, love to be proved wrong though. 😎 You can roughly get an idea on the FB Spector group as they trying to get an idea for when a serial number v year was bought....from xxxx to xxxx probably x year etc.

Guitarists... why are they such knackers

That got my interest, I'm trying to learn guitar....as opposed to playing on top three strings or CAGED chords? 😎 -
Wow that's some transit damage...its put a flat on the headstock and, for a strap fitting to break thru the paint and still have enough oomph to dent the body.... I'd be backing that, not worth any discount. 😎

Tried one a while back, sunburst, maple neck, liked it, beautiful looker too. 434M Usual Yamaha offering, flawless build, fit 'n finish, neck especially nice, a proper quality product. BB (Broad Bass) always were and still are a classy product line. I liked the tone, only played thru an Ashdown combo, nothing more though, but it was enough. Disclaimer : I like Yamahas, owned many, never had a bad one, ohh and my avatar is an RBX4-A2.😉

The problem is you need another jazz, one on rounds, one on flats, sorted😉 It's easy to forget up to the late 70s, early 80s most new basses came running flats out of the box....be they Fender, Musicman et al. I now run Harley Benton flats (ex Fender and EB fanboy), a set on a 50s style single coil P another on a jazz, the HB flats have a lovely feel being super smooth (great slides) nice tension, hold tune and to me are fairly bright for flats so best of both worlds....but I do tend to play near the bridge. ...£13 really no need to spend more😎

Guitarists... why are they such knackers

Not wishing to generalise.. ...which always means I will😉 I find in my 'sphere of influence' those on bass tend to be the more cerebal, thoughtful, organised type, which I see as pros. More practical engineering wise too. Con wise, the bassisti tend to be more 'anoraky' about their gear and always chasing 'the tone'. They usually own more examples of their 'stock in trade', more amps, flit between strings makes and types, proper gear sluts....guitarerers seem more satisfied with their gear, or maybe not so bothered. Strat or Tele, 9s, 10s or 11s, and either love or hate Micheal Schenker. That said, guitar playing mate of mine has 14 guitars and an ex automotive Research and Development engineer, can take or leave Michael Schenker, so what do I know🤔😉 -
Is BC a community, or just a source of information?
