1. Looking forward to trying one of these out for sure.
2. I've got a SWR SM900 that i've been gigging for years now. Never failed me! Could be louder, but to be fair i'm coming to realise that perhaps, actually, my guitarist could be quieter... Anyway, i love the amp, from the clarity of tone to the functionality and features.
3. My bad, link below has the details: https://www.zoom.co.jp/B3n-update-Jun2017
4.
Guys, check Zoom website ( zoom.jp ) for latest amp , cab and effects ....................nice Markbass there !
Nice! Im at work atm, but what else is in the update!?
5.
Can anyone comment on how the DarkGlass BK7 sounds? I appreciate its not going to have the warmth of the real thing, but ive been wanting to add more dirt to my tone for a while, and while i like my DG VMT id like something that can get dirtier when needed, at the press of a button, whilst also staying on to give some warmth all the time. I was going to use my 60B along side of the VMT, but it looks like the B3n could well be the one box solution, especially as i was also going to start using my TC Corna as well.
I've been using the b7k emulation, and its been working really well for me. Doesn't quite have that unbridled rawness that the real deal has, but its certainly good!
6. I have a soft spot for ovations, though the round back may not be for everyone, i think they are great!
7. I really need to sort out a pedal board so i can get on the wireless train. My guitarist uses a line 6 g30. Seems about the only one within my price range!
8. +1 for the work Sam at Gibson does. He's a talented fella!
9. This is always a bone of contention. I will tend to watch a few tunes (more if i enjoy the band) from as many sets as i can, and stay to the end, but i really don't mind if other bands stay to watch mine. I would much rather know that the people in the crowd (or lack thereof) are there because they want to be, rather than because they are bound by some sort of etiquette. Essentially I'd rather play to an empty room than a bored one. If i pay to go to a gig i don't feel i have to watch every band, i paid to be there, i'll enjoy the experience how i want to, i know it's different if you are on a bill together, but still, life is short.
10.
You should seldom, if ever, use bridged mode, unless you have 16 ohm speakers. http://billfitzmaurice.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=19292
Thank you Mr Fitzmaurice, i really appreciate your advice (though i may need to read it a few more times to get my head around it!) So i should ignore the "bridged rating" printed on the back of my amp? To be honest im already inclined to ignore these anyway, as what is printed on the amp is different to what is in the manual, and i dont know which to trust!
11. Thank you everyone for your advice. Looks lile ill have to suck it up and get another 2x10 then. I guess on top of pushing the cab hard is that im worried about pushing half my amp hard (im running the amp at 2 o'clock on the volume dial) when using it in "stereo" mode, compared to using roughly half the amps power in bridged mode, hence looking at protecting my cab from the amps potential full power whilst not pushing my amp too hard. I never let my power amp clip, so i know im in good limits there.
12. It depends on the size of the stage. Normally we have PA support and stage monitors, so it not a problem, but we have a gig coming up this weekend with vocal PA only (ugh) so i'm worried about volume.
13.
Don't turn it up all the way.. Simples Just use your ears..
This scares me! I know it's simple, but i guess i worry that at gig volumes i won't be able to hear the warning signs.
14. Hi, this has probably been covered before but i couldn't find anything via the search. So, i have my beloved and trusty (shocker i know!) SWR SM900. I also have my lovely Zilla 600w 4ohm 2x10. My problem is that the Swr will only output either 450w or 900w, so either too much or too little. Can anyone recommend an attenuator or a power soak, or some other solution that will allow me to get the most out of my amp and cab without blowing either up?
15. Enjoy and Good luck! My band played Bloodstock a few years back through the M2M competition, and then were asked back to play the Sophie stage the next year, it's a great competition run by great people for a great festival
16.
I think he's done it, and this is the aftermath. But good support, dude. 👍👍
Aye i commented without reading the thread edited accordingly
17. It's a learning process, don't be too hard on yourself. My first recording sessions were awful too, but it gets better, especially when you have a producer you gel with. Id hate to have my band watching me through the whole thing. I've found recording to be something that causes me to be extremely self-critical, and can be emotionally punishing sometimes, but its always made me resolved to get better and thats all i can ask for at the end of the day.
18.
I'd have a look at the website. Alex covers a lot of ground there.
Good point, sorry for my laziness! http://barefacedbass.com/product-range/retro-two10.htm
19. What drivers do they use in their 210s? What power can you throw at em?
20. Recentely just bought a zoom b3n, and i don't want to have to mess about with power on stage, would one of these work for that? Maybe with a tuner and potential to add a wireless receiver at a later date?
21. Death/extreme metal here, all fingerstyle, all the time! Though if im honest with myself, although i prefer to play with fingers, picks can be better for recording...
22. Sweet. Wish i knew enough about stuff to do this to my SM900.
23. My band has been going with it's current lineup for about 10 years now...
24. I use Ableton Live 9, not used the lite version, imagine it must be fairly restrictive, but the full fat version is great!
