1. Hi fellow groovers i am interested in this white bass. Could you share picts and impressions of your bass ? Thanks !
2. Here what taught me my luthier : there must an real angle so you need to make rounds. Each string almost touchs the machine heads. I found this picture with a guitar.
3. Did you check the WD music UK' site or the US site ?
4.
Hi everyone My name's Dave and I've been lurking on BC for a few weeks now, so I thought I'd better say hello and explain why I'm here. {...} The J-Bass seems to be in pretty good nick for a second hander, but it does have a bit of fret buzz on the E string. I don't think the strings were replaced before I bought it, so I'm going to put some new ones on and see how I go. A colleague at work used to play bass and he's offered to have a look at it for me, so hopefully he won't find too much wrong with it! {...} Thanks for reading Cheers, Dave
Hi Dave ! Welcome in the low frequencies world ! According to me, your buzz is not a big problem and comes mainly from : - How high your strings are from your fingerboard. Check your E saddle on the bridge and get your E string higher. Or if it is a little more serious - How is your neck ? Perfectly straight or bowed ? If bowed you will fix this by turning the trussrod. It is better to bring it to a luthier if you don't master. What is your old strings gauge ? Choose carefully your new strings gauge. Good groove
A couple of my Ibanez basses, will get some pics of my others soon! A 1980 Musician 924 and a 1980 Musician 924 limited addition.Got a 1978 Musician and a 79 Roadster passive and a 81 Roadster active too!
I really like your Musician 924 limited ADDITION ?? Isn't it Limited Edition ? Anyway it is gorgeous You mean that you are ADDICTED ? I understand why, i used to play a 1980 Musician 940 (fretless version of the 924) Another beautiful vintage Ibanez, a 1979 Roadster VT with a new 3EQ preamp
6. Cool question, kasbridge ! It would be great if we could know : What is the one which has the best value for money ? In other words, How much did you (all fellow groovers) pay for your iPh bass tuner ? Thanks
7.
Sure, if you totally ignore the roles played by George Fullerton, Freddie Tavares, et al.
Of course, we love Leo but 7ender is a collective creation. That's why this group of people made so legendary products. Leo Fender, George Fullerton, Forest White, Freddy Tavares, Dale Hyatt, Don Randall... Each member brought his skills : design, research & development, production, sales.... Leo, George & Forest spent their life together and created Musicman and G&L. There are so many cool books about this story. For example :
8. Geddy Lee loves maple necks, whatever they have black or pearl inlays. You can check on the web, there are thousands of pictures. With his fame, he makes sell many basses so why not another serie ? Personnaly i don't appreciate Artist Models. I fell like faking someone else I agree with others bass fellows, a CS price is far from Leo's low price instruments Spirit.
9. Splendid idea ! And it is beautiful As a JB player, i really like. But a P-Bass would be cool May i ask for... An old Gretsch A Stingray, Sabre or G&L Bass An transparent Ampeg A Wal What else ? Too long list... Looks like this work of Art
10. These Roadster are well made instruments and they are a lot of bass for few money. I play a RS900 natural fretless for years. I specially appreciate the sunburst on your RS924. Congrats for having harrassed... Don't give up
11. Good evening Grangur You had a lot of solutions from fellow groovers My little advice would be to try flatwounds on your PB one day. I wasn't a flats fan and once i tried, just for fun... Since that change, each time i want a huge low sound for rock, blues music i pick up my flats loaded Precision. With a pick or finger style, it works. I hope it will be usefull
12. Hi andydye ! Thanks for answering. I am looking for a Roadster 900 (at the 2nd plan of the FlatEric's picture). I sent him (FlatEric) a PM. Cheers
13. These cool basses are still here ? I am interested

15. Yes beautiful 1974 JB ! Till 1973, Maple neck Jazz basses have black block inlays. After that, both rosewood and maple fingerboards have pearloïd block inlays. Welcome to the vintage world But stay cool, big big prices and vintage doesn't mean good gear all the time.... I like theses shops : www.oldenburger-music-station.de/vintage.htm www.bassmaters.nl www.thebassgallery.com
16. Splendid 66´ Jazz Bass reissue ! Dots, binding, matching headstock and sonic blue ! Concerning concentric knobs, i play a 62 American Reissue JB, loaded with flats, and i let the 2 tones fully opened most of the time. I don't use concentric tones with that bass whereas i often use the single tone knob on my classic 3 knobs 1972 JB. Just a remark.
17.
updated
Thanks for adding. Beautiful sabre for a Groove Knight... I wish i could see its sunburst better. A front view with natural light would be possible ? For the "original or not" question, i think we should check neck dates, pots dates, preamp parts and all PreEB elements before asking for a so little detail. Even if yes on MM Sabre usually there are 2 black switches and a white. But others main parts are much more important to judge a bass, i think.
18. Hello Really cool fretless ! Could you add a global view of this Sabre ? Thanks.
19.
I just got her in after months of waiting and feel the need to share this beauty!!!
Really cool Present meets Past : cocobolo top meets vintage look block inlays neck. Interesting mix
20.
Excellent! Thanks for that.
You are welcome. I am pleased it is usefull So many versions that it needs explanations. There is a funny detail : Jaco Artist signature JB is factory loaded with flatwound strings.... Strange isn't it ? Jaco plays roundwounds ! About the CS 1991 fretted version : Jaco plays his wonderful poetic composition "Portrait of Tracy" with his 1960 FRETTED Jazz Bass. I am voiceless hearing this tune, according to me a Masterpiece.
21. Hi I used to play a 6 fretted but fretless are much exclusive... Have you already checked the Warwick forum ? http://forum.warwick.de/forum.php
22. I started a topic this fall, i hope it will help you. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/186954-jazz-bass-jaco-pastorius-tribute-or-artist-signature/page__fromsearch__1
23. Jaws dropping "naked" fingerboards here Why didn't i come here sooner !? Here my old worn but beloved defretted JB
24.
Beautiful instruments. This is mine a 1962 Fender Jazz Bass, all original. This what I have for sale currently. My intention is to buy a Jazz Bass '60, stack knobs.
Perfect Jazz Bass ! Lucky Bass player ! Could you post your own picts ? These picts are made by a Pro ( Ederly ? Someone else ?) but it is better to see personnal photos. Thanks Cool playing in the YT video !
