If I had: a. the arms b. the money c. the storage space, and d. the musical need I'd buy them. But I don't. For anyone seriously considering this (really? are your SURE?), I bought a V-Type head off this dude a few years back, he drove down from Derbyshire to Gatwick and met me to hand it over, for the princely sum of £10. Good guy, very interesting stories!

This has come up before, but I can't find it right now... Personally, I wanted a Status neck, PUps and hardware and their version of the Jazz shape is a bit sleeker and sexier (IMHO). Can't talk for anyone else tho. EDIT: plus 1 to bass_ferret's comments too

Yes, my Retroactive makes me all grinny from ear to ear! Actually beginning to find more and more that I don't like the Groove as much coz the Retro is so much better, but.... ah well, I need a five string and it's nice to play i guess!

Put it this way, I use combos at the moment (and love them) but I'm always toying with the idea of going back to a head+cab set up. Make of that what you will!

Oh, and I regret selling my Trace AH300-12 too!

My MIM Jazz V, I'd heavily modded it (Barts, J-Retro mainly) and it was a great sounding bass, but just not as good to play as my Groove.

Value is probably in the region of £350, give or take a bit.[/quote] This V-Type was around 1994-1998 actually, it's the precursor to the V4/V8 and I remember seeing literature about them when buying my first real bass amp c.1995 I sold one of these for £370 about 2 years ago which was about £100 more than I was expecting.

Does he do a compact 1x15?

Spent years going thru NHS fun with wrist and hand x-rays etc and they kept coming back negative, a former colleague suggested a chiropractor and I was fixed within a few visits. My left shoulder/back area is needing another little tweak now actually.... EDIT: Gaf, sounds like the pain you're in is very similar to what I had. Hope you get it sorted
