1. Good point. Using TC's model 900W is actually 473W
2.
hhhmmmmmmmm !!
?? My cab can easily handle 1000W but doesn't NEED it, I normally feed it between 200W and 500W and it's louder than Lemmy
3. Ditto
4.
I jumped off a stage for a bit of audience fun only to discover that it was too high to climb back onto while playing. I sheepishly finished the song at the foot of the stage waiting for a lift up before the next song started.
Yep, done that one Last week I thought I'd mingle in the very attractive wedding crowd we had during Don't Stop Believin, only there were so many people on the dance floor I got offstage and couldn't go anywhere, and my route back "home" very rapidly was filled with luscious ladies
5. There are at least two videos of me falling over onstage at various stages of my life, if not three of four. Best was two consecutive gigs on consecutive nights, the same song, ironically called "The Fall"..... First of these gigs I actually broke my bass and my lead with the way I landed, so needed to do a quick bass&lead swap whilst the guitarist played awful nonsense for a minute or two. Thing was, I'd left my lead backstage so had to run down the stairs and corridor to get to our dressing room Also had the audacity to get so pissed once at a Christmas party (loooong ago now) that I told each and every band member to f*** off and called them all c***s at least twice each. No surprise we were never asked back.
6. I can only comment on two cabs- a 4 ohm !Barefaced Bintage and an 8ohm homebrew 1x15 not too dissimilar from the Ashdown. With the Vintage it's scarily loud and enough for any gig I'll play... at a push. The 1x15 was just a bit crap in comparison but the cab is pretty abysmal Look for sensitivity and cone "area"; maybe jhk's 2x12 Eden on the FS section if it hasn't already gone?
7. Oh, I would like a blurry cab
8. The BFC was for a the previous generation AH1000, not sure it could work in the same tri-amp configuration with this. You could run it full range I think though? Good luck with the sale
9. I've used my Vintage with...: Hartke LH500 Eden Nemesis NA650 Eden WT550 GK MB200 GK MB500 Sounds great with all of them, the LH500 was great (well, they all were in their own way!) and if you drive the preamp really hard you get a nice growl As for amps looking lost on it... yes:
10. My latest incarnation: Status bass (Retroactive J in this case....) -> AKG bug wireless -> GK MB500 -> Barefaced Vintage Awesome
11. Is this my old one? Great cab especially for the money
12. Price drop bump £470 posted the UK...
13. Wedding at Woldingham School (v posh all girl's boarding school), it was a brilliant one. Probably the best crowd we've had this year, they were absolutely mad (and very attractive on the female front ) First gig with my new GK MB500 and boy was it good. The Boost channel is literally insane, I drowned the whole band out with my onstage volume until I got told off I can't resize this pic at the mo so go to the link to see my little doomsday machine... http://merton.bitd.co.uk/images/Rig2011.jpg
14. Was fecking awesome! Have you managed to help sell?
15. Alien made one for Froilan (s_u_y*) about 3 years ago
16. You going too? Am there tonight
17. It's Almost The Weekend bump
18. Is he deaf too, Alex? I'd expect so sitting that close to those two cabs
19. Fraid not fella, sorry!
20. Fran, no-one is allowed to change their mind
21. Bumparoo!
22.
Another one for our little black book Merton.
Haha! I have now decided I no longer have Streamliner GAS coz I'm waiting on the MB500 to show up later this week. It'll last, oooh, about a week, two tops
23. Cheers fellas! It is a great great amp and part of me thinks I was a bit hasty in buying the replacement but I am at a place where the core tone of the MB heads is suiting me a it better despite this being possibly my favourite amp tone out-of-the-box ever... (Gotta love alcohol!) Chris_B asked a question on PM which I'll expand on here, my original post might be a bit vague about age and origin. This is a US made head, I can only guess that the boards were batch-produced (I know Trace used to do this) in 1997 and then final assembly took place in Montrose in 2004.
24. Good morning! I love this bass amp, and for the last year I've been telling everyone it's the best bass amp I've ever used. Recently though I've been noticing that I prefer the tone of the GK MB200 I have as a back up and last night I (possibly drunkenly....) decided to get the bigger brother of that and sell this. Will I regret it? Pissobly. But here we go... This is dated 2004,though some of the boards inside go back to 1997 IIRC, built in the US of A. Around 300W at 8 ohms, 500W at 4 ohms and 620W at 2 ohms (I've never run it at 2 ohms). It really is a great amp,I tend to run it completely flat and use the EQ to tweak slightly for the room. It lets your playing really shine through, subtle changes of style really do result in a noticeable difference out of your speakers, the tone of the amp doesn't mask it at all. It's in great condition, as the pics show, the only issue I'd say is the volume pot is a bit crackly and I haven't gotten around to buying some contact cleaner to sort it out. Features include switchable compressor, 5 band semi-parametric EQ, Eden's Enhance control, DI, FX loop, Aux In, and of course a single 12AX7 in the preamp. Price is £400 plus shipping to the UK mainland, flightcase not included. Now sold, thanks all.
25.
Sorry. But it does sound very nice. Just sayin'.
Oi
