1. Great amp - I heard whynot's at the weekend. Sounds delicious. I hope Dave buys it so I don't get tempted again
2. What sort of gigs are you doing where a 500W 2x12 won't sound big enough?! Eden maybe? Or sk8's Purple Chilli, same sort of vibe as the Markbass you have but 2 ohm capable
3. They're still Ceramic magnets, not neo, but they use lighter ply instead of whatever depleted-Uranium lined stuff they used to use. I like the new cabs more than the old cabs but I've not used the new heads.
4. Just picked up Alan's Super 12T, fantastic guy, fantastic player and a dead easy deal. Thanks
5.
My SWR400 runs VERY hot...you'd jump if you put your hand on it. No fan needed either.. It was built and designed that way...altho later models had a fan, IIRC. I always think amps that can do this are built very well with good materials.
Yep, plus 1; I recall a conversation with Trace Elliot about the Commando combo being designed to run hot when I was a spotty teenager and didn't understand these things. Equally my hifi amp is a heavily biased A-B design which runs so hot I had to rethink it's use and position when my son started to crawl (seriously!); I'd hope (and expect) the Kilo to be designed as such. Doubt Hartke would have let it slip through after so long in pre-production.
6. Sadly patch, Alex has to think about his direct sales rather than if someone is looking to move one on second hand, that doesn't help his bottom line at all.
7. Phew, no ripped off testicles this weekend
8. Dear Al, Ditto my open letter to Dave Regards, Martin
9. Dear Dave. Please buy this so i don't. Regards, Martin
10. I might be in trouble on Sunday...
11. Si just bought my Barefaced Vintage (she left today, sob!) and he was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Great communications and a thoroughly pleasant fella
12. Bought John's old Zoot 1x12 cab back in October, and he even hand delivered it. Can't ask for a better service or a nice chap. Cheers
13. No thanks, got more than enough amps and speakers already. Sorry dude
14. Ah sorry sir! She's being packed off tomorrow, tis with a heavy heart but got an S12T to collect on Sunday so it won't be a sad Mert for long
15. £450 shipped to the UK mainland, I will go no lower.
16.
I examine the bass and then play it unplugged. If I like it so far then I'll ask to amplify it. Then I play all the notes on each string to see it it plays evenly. Then I play it with right hand by the bridge, then right hand above pickup, then right hand over the end of neck, etc. I'm checking out the bass not performing for a load of onlookers.
This. (In a shop) Friends never ask me to play something as they've all seen me play and know how crap I am
17. Cheers! That cab is about to go in favour of the smaller S12T
18. PM'd again Alan
19. Yeah Al I blame you for this There's now a Super 12 up for sale here so as long as that stays for sale I'll consider selling this for £500 collected
20. Hmmmm. Been very tempted to swap my Vintage for one of these... Hmmm...
21. Should be done by now. Give em a bell and chase!
