1. Great cab, great price, great guy to deal with!
2. Have you seen how long a meercat's arms are?
3. Gorgeous bass, and a cracking price! If it was a 33" scale I'd be in a lot of trouble. GLWTS
4. Paul took a bass hard case off my hands, he arranged UPS collection and was superb throughout. He even arranged a little donation to the BHF instead of paying me anything for the case. Top notch!
5. PM'd - my band will take it. We're in Brighton on Sat so hopefully can arrange collection
6. Stunning bass, GLWTS
7. Anything more than £100 is too much. Generally I'd expect £60-£80
8. Good man thanks! PS someone should buy this amp, it's the dogs dangly bits
9. Sorry for the thread hijack, can you link me to a place to buy these TAD valves, sounds like some experimentation is in order!
10. Great amp, great price Out of interest what effect did the change in output valves have?
11. 10 years ago Newton Faulkner used to open for my covers band at the local pubs. We bumped into each other this year at a little festival and he had the good grace to pretend he remembered me ;-)
12. Gone
13. Best solid state head ever IMO
14. If you ever want to sell that Electro.......
15. John was fantastic helping me sort a slightly odd preamp request for my (currently-in-the-making) ACG. As has been said above he answers incredibly promptly and often outside of working hours. Brilliant
16. Hello! Glad you're still enjoying the cab
17. Cracking amp and an insanely good price
18.
But the G3 handles are still shinkillers!
Ah yes I have missed the point again haven't I
19.
I imagine Alex takes a lot of it on board as viable feedback - he'll want to remove any barrier to someone buying one of his cabs.
Surely with the Gen 3 cabs, with new handles, he has done precisely that?
20. Great amp, great guy to do business with, and it really is essentially new as I owned it for about two weeks before Tony buying it
21.
I don't want to fan any flames here, but I have to ask, why are people so accepting of this?
I accept it because any product which uses these handles could suffer the same fate (but not the same vitriol on here). EDIT: I should say I ACCEPTED it, because I no longer own a BF can with these handles. I have Gen 3 cabs now and the new handles are better
22.
I completely agree, I would describe the sound from my Mi10 cabs as far from muffled. They sound big and open, almost hifi. One thing that a lot of folks forget is that with all cabs, what you put in massively effects what you get out and some amps speak better through some cabs. My guess would be, that seeing you're already using Ashdown gear anyway, you'd probably get what you're looking for from most Ashdown gear. Eude
Spot on
23.
The Eden 1 x 10 is very similar & looks very similar. I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't made in the same factory?!! http://www.thomann.de/gb/eden_ex_110_8_ohms.htm?sid=54fe8d57c0d373f580e7c212daa2fb5f B
I suspect same factory with different finish (Ashdown vinyl vs Eden carpet) and different badge, yes As for the mixed reviews, bear in mind the Mi10 is £159 new, it will never compete sonically with higher-priced, better engineered cabs which aren't built to a price point. Whether that compromise is something you can deal with is unfortunately difficult to judge without using one yourself!
24. I have one for home practice. I used it last week at a jam night with my GK MB200 head and the rig performed admirably. For the money you really can't go wrong in my opinion
25. Don't pick it up by the top handle then I used to pick mine up with one of the side handles, never got hit in the shins. The top handle is there for wheeling it around, not lifting it.
