1. Does this work well with pedals like the Aguilar Octamiser which can be a bit gnarly with active basses? I'm wondering if giving the Octamiser it's own loop will eradicate any signal and buffering losses of having a single chain...?
2.
After a money scare recent this went up for sale, but something else is sold and I get to keep this. Still does the round at rehearsals. The 33" scale and the weight make for long playing periods an absolute breeze. I will be changing the passive wiring that Alan prescribes to the traditional Vol, Vol and Tone. The rotary system is nice but something about either or systems bug me. And series switching isn't my thing at all.
Glad you've got to keep it I've gone for the same pickup compliment in my Finn (currently in gestation) but I've gone for an active blend pot with passive tone, as I don't use the active tone controls on my Status but I do use the blend pot for the same reasons you are going V/V/T I'm guessing it'll make sod all different to the tone..?
3.
Time Warp (yes, I know... )
We've only just added this after doing a Rocky Horror themed gig at Halloween with Christopher Biggins narrating It's great!!
4.
i'm not sure a 60s style P with flats will ever sound like an active Traben - and the Traben will never nail the P bass thing either. What you have just discovered, in time for christmas, is a reason to get another bass.... or two.
Sensible, and accurate, advice
5.
Touring again, but only US dates so far. Please baby Jesus, let them come to these shores! I will actually wee myself! Anybody else a fan? These guys really wowed me - what a band, what a singer, and what a rhythm section!
They were supposed to be touring Europe in oct but pulled the shows about a week before due to wanting to finish the album. I was bummed out as I had tickets for the London show - got a refund obviously. I too came in backwards, started with Stain (love it) and discovered more and more gems going back in time. Funnily enough just yesterday decided to give Colleidoscope another go as I found it a bit "meh" ten years ago. Quite liking it this time around but the production of both this and Chair In the Doorway wind me up. A bit souless. Will def see them again though, first time I caught them was 2002 at the Forum and it was one of my favourite ever gigs
6. Sounds great But then I already knew that haha
7. Superb
8. Wot Musky sed You'll love it, however it doesn't exist without pictures
9. Another excellent little amp case, niice one
10. You mean it's not a Barefaced handle? Wow!
11.
from playing amps with valve pre's for along time this little thing really does blow them away, sounds aleast to me very full and breaks up lovely, yes some noise comes when you crank the gain but this happens on alot of amps. played thru my full pedalboard today, which includes alot of fuzz, dirt and also a overdive/boost handles them all very well, yes ive had to change settings on a few but thats to be expected with a new amp. as you can see from my sig im selling a few bits to grab the 100w
Nice rig, and good work on going for the CTM100 as well, you'll love it I'm sure
12.
Price is 'negotiable'
Don't encourage him
13.
Then the 100 should be ideal. Its a filthy fuzz machine when cranked a bit.
Yes, it's lush!
14. I think it'll be fine, there's a chap in the US (I think) who gigs a CTM15 with a 6x10, but I guess his band is quite quiet It'll prob have some nice grit from the power section but that's half the fun
15. With the right cab this is a very giggable amp, I absolutely love mine
16. The CTM100 is immense. Buy one ;-)
17. Superb bass and a superb price! And a superb chap too
18. I'd look at the Dr Bass cab here http://basschat.co.uk/topic/249068-for-sale-dr-bass-1580-cab-l225-crate-2x10-cab-l75-ashdown-mag-amp-l120/
19.
But - you may find that your amp might not partner so well with some of the above manufacturers. The RH450 was extremely popular among BC members a few years ago, but a lot of users subsequently sold their amps on as they weren't happy with the sound they produced. It's a minefield!
Yup, I'd consider a GK head, maybe the MB Fusion as (IMO) it's the dogs danglies of lightwight amps
20.
Audiokinesis Thunderchild 112 Acoustic-Friendly, homemade 500 watt amp. I love the fact you use your own designed and built gear. Must check out your amp thread over on TB
21. A Barefaced with a tweeter, or their new Super Compact which is a 1x12. I have two of those and they are fantastic cabs Also depends on budget of course, there are other lightwight cabs available Whereabouts are you based? There's bound to be someone with something you could try out living relatively close by.
22. They're not a big company and as has been said they are at Bass Player Live in LA. Give it til Tuesday then phone them
23. Bit late but this is what we did on Saturday.... http://m.youtube.com/watch?list=UUNJQfoZhBdftqhpIHYpbdvQ&v=25m1n-MXUqs&feature=youtu.be We were the house band for the rocky Horror bits then did a set at the end. Bit weird as half the band was one side of the stage and the other half about three miles away on the other, that that's the way they wanted it for the Rocky Horror bit for obvious reasons.
24. Great cab, great price, great guy to deal with!
