4. Lovely! And the THD tone pot thing sounds cracking too
5. Nah, the Two10 has a sweeter and more mellowed top end than the SCs (in my experience) - I wouldn't be looking to use one for more top end than the SC can produce. You'd be better off with a Super Midget I think. Plus it's a known combination which works The Two10 is a bloody good cab but not sure it'll do what you're after
6. Plus the TC cabs will be voiced completely differently from the BF cabs, the SC is designed as a more transparent cab (as far as is possible from a single driver!) but the Two10 is meant to have that more vintage vibe. I can't see the two working well together TBH but am happy to be proved wrong
7.
I'd use a CTM 100 at least, just to keep a bit of clean headroom. Which is what I'll be doing tonight ... If you like total tube fuzz then try the LB.
This is spot on - for me the CTM100 is the perfect valve amp as it can do dirty without killing your ears but also has enough headroom to keep it reasonably clean too. The CTM30/LB30 is definitely not one for clean sounds much above bedroom levels.
8. I gigged this exact rig a few times last year (well, the CTM30 but it's the same head). It's doable if you have PA support; without PA support it can work (edit - if the band isn't silly like mine sadly is!) but don't expect to fill the room with bass. It's not clean but it's very very nice. Even better is two Super Compacts
9. Now that is a classy little mini rig of doom
10. This looks ace! Love the finish
11. 50p and a pair of old socks?
12. Wowsers
13. Brilliant cabs! Only sold mine because I couldn't fit it in my car without a lot of faffing. Easy one hand lift too
14. Oooh will be interested to see how you get on, these intrigue me!
15. Awesome
16. It'll be fine. If you hear bad sounds turn down the gain but I always use the passive input unless I'm seriously overloading the amp input
17. I dep in an 80s hair metal tribute band. Status Retroactive J into Ashdown rig at the moment
18. Brilliant basses, I love mine
19. Good luck for the next phase of Bass Gear Barrie, Phil and Vic - I've not spent huge wads of money with you but have bought a couple of accessories and always been very impressed
20.
Currently my amp setup is entirely made up of second-hand stuff from this very parish! (..snip..) with (one of) Merton's old Ashdown CTM-100s (I believe he's acquired at least one more since...)
Yes. And sold it again too as I needed money One day I'll get to keep one permanently haha, I love them!
21. Wrong forum?
22. From memory, around 42kg
23. Whereabouts are you located? There's bound to be a BC member close by who can help start the process of experimentation
24. Oh and the bloke selling it is a mighty fine chap to boot!
