if you really have to do this, then don't straighten them out when you take them off the bass - ie leave them in the coiled/bent shape the came off in. they won't stand up to being taken off & put on again indefinitely, but you should get a few more cycles out of them. but think of all the money you'd save on strings by getting another bass. 😁 -

thanks all. I will try to find some tape with conductive adhesive. hopefully it will also keep slugs out of the electrics. 🤣
