What do you fancy a go on this time?
ooh that big metal thingy that you bought and it was all chipped so you refinished it red and it looked amazing! that one!
 2.
Nice! Could you do the same in green?
couldn't with UV, dunno about any other kinds of lighting. anyway, that looks amazing mate, fancy telling us how you did it?
 3. pics of both? we'll help you decide
 4.
Excuse the mess in my den
i'm sure i'm not the only one here who's carpet you can no longer see because of the mess in their bedrooms *looks to teenaged boys for support here* anyway, great looking bass. i gotta say i love a bit of swamp ash, to me its the perfect wood. can have a lovely grain, yet its far from a "coffee table" wood (which i hate). i bet it plays great. are the active electronics 2 band or 3 band? and is that a set neck?
 5.
I'd go for the Grovesnor again - awesome venue and a steal. I'll bring the Mark Bass, Line 6 Floor POD, I'll also have a word with the Girlfriend and possiblly bring her Dad's Orange, Mesa Boogie or Trace Elliot (god I love that girl!!!) Feb is good. So long as it's not cold Still very much alive, working flat out trying to learn 8 bloody songs for Dec 20th before I die on my arse! John
it's horrible isn't it? i got nine to learn and then i gotta write 2 more basslines by the 22nd. and then i'm in year 11 and have got tons of coursework to do. then i got to fit at least a couple of hours of basschat in a night. i have no spare time any more cos playing bass and basschat are real hardships.
 6. i can't see the problem, looks like a fender to me
 7. i'm all up for the grosvenor again, i thought it was good there. i can't comment on the uni, since i haven't seen it, but i can't see that there was a problem with the grosvenor.
 8.
only if you bring us all cake. and when i say 'us all' i mean 'me'.
any chance you fancy bringing me some cake, too? and make it chocolate, too.
 9. in the original post by IncX there were 45 on one time.
 10.
Awesome, i assume you'll be dragging luke along with you again?
he won't need to drag me! i'll be there
 11.
Alternatively: "My hovercraft is full of eels"* * For the older BCers
i don't know about it being for the older basschatters, i was born 3 years after graham chapman died, but the monty python movies are all in my top 10 movies. and most of my male friends love monty python, too (for some reason i don't know any females that find it funny). if you quoted my hovercraft is full of eels to all of the boys in my year at school, i'd be willing to bet at least a third of em would know what you're on about.
 12.
Just to add a bit of balance (excuse the crap joke) but it is very neck heavy. The body feels light and the six-string width together with the hardwood neck is probably what tips it. It's a little better standing up with a strap than seated but you do have to press down with the right forearm, hardly ideal for a 6-string. The basic tone and eq is miles better than the previous incarnation of this bass and the bottom B is very good at any price. A good bass, with better balance I'd prefer it to any sub-£1000 sixer... except the now-discontinued TRB1006.
i've played the SR506 before and i can't say i noticed any problem with it being neck heavy. and i was sat down, and you said its worse sat down. to be fair though, i've only played it for a short spell once, so its probably more noticable when you actually own the bass. i just thought i'd tell you it didn't seem a problem for me. definatly check one out. mind you, it probably didn't seem a problem cos i was trying to get my head around six strings (being a four string person myself). i'm just contradicting myself now though and not getting my point across, so i'm gonna stop typing
 13.
welcome to the forum Is it a precision or a jazz?? Seems a good price, post up pics mate!
for some reason i had it in my head that this was a strat, and had to re-read the OP to check it wasn't. it only occured to me afterwards that it wouldn't be in for sale: basses if it was a strat. i must be going crazy
 14.
i have to say, i did not understand any part of that post
me neither.
 15.
MB1. Pisces man myself!....Sorry!.....I'll get me Coat!.
I was thinking of a joke along the same lines, but then i realised i am a libra besides, you've already made that joke so it wouldnt be funny anyway.
 16. that is cool... if i had the money...
 17.
not interested in basses at all at the moment.
blasphemer! great looking bass! good luck with the sale.
 18. i've always loved black/black/rosewood, much more than than black/black/maple. especially on a precision, but jazzes look great all black/rosewood, too. so i'm voting black. OR if you do decide tort its gotta be brown tort. red tort is horrible looking.
 19.
for the money i don't think you'll get anything as good or versatile.
+1, ive never played anything as good for the price.
 20. depends what you play, timmy c is nearly always using different levels of distortion throughout Rage Against The Machine songs.
 21.
If you look at this Thomann kit, and look carefully at the body wood for the "different perspectives", the different example body woods look different. Some seem to have some sort of binding, some don't. http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_e_g...it_lp_style.htm
the one with binding has a cream pickguard.
 22. its hardly a kit. theyve taken the neck of some bass and are passing it off as a kit.
 23. i play the 4 string version and i love it. a mix of that and my custom bass has stopped any bass gas since easter, there is literally nothing else that i could want. the soundgear is light, with a thin neck and quite a smooth tone - but its easy to get a good growl out of it when you need it, play in favour of the back pickup and boost the treble and mids youve got a real stingray like growl. play in favour of the front pickup, slightly roll of the mids, slighty boost the treble and really boost the bass you got a precision sound. you can really get any sound you could possibly want. i've played the six string and the string spacing is very close together, but if youve played it and dont mind the string spacing i'd go for it, you arent going to have any other problems with it.
 24. replied to.
 25. it should be a sin to refinish salmon pink as sunburst. i'm not even a huge fan of salmon pink. but its so bright and quite rare, and sunburst is like the most common colour ever and really boring.
