1. MK3.... Had to make another board to fit everything on it how i wanted it but its defiantly starting to get there with the new addition of the CryBaby an limiter I'm having some great fun with it ! Not the best of pictures, but also made a case for the whole thing out of an old rectangular bass case, just cut it down a bit
2. Sent me some Rickenbacker graphics, More than i needed at NO charge and even payed the postage !!! Genuine nice bloke to deal with Very big thank you
3. Heard about it this morning , bad one. RIP
4.
If you liked the Moo-ngo, then you're gonna love the other designs I made:The Dino Ferrari
F1 ! you have my attention (very off topic but hay...) (so thats two things beginning with the letter "F" that I'm not a major fan of) but i never said i didn't like or appreciate either lol nice work all around !! Loved the "moo-ngo"!!!
5.
Well check out my mock up draft of the Bongo I designed in photoshop... if I was going to do it right, it would have looked the bollox
That looks the business!!! More/bigger black spots on a silver background rather than white yeah that defiantly has novelty value thats for sure (one of them crazy idea's that you would never of thought about) But perfect for playing "Mootown" style music with
6.
I always fancied a bass in a cow pattern, I was going to do a bongo like that but i though, if it goes pear shape I'd rather c*ck up a cheaper bass than an expensive one. I am pleased with the result
It does look good, especially how the pattern lines up perfectly with the PG, just thought it was interesting looking, especially with the pink PU covers But as far as doing it to a Bong goes i agree with you not doing it but the Bongo is the kind of body shape that would carry it off, its the kind of body shape that will carry pretty much any colour or design off on it, but at the same time.... looks better on the Jazz
7. GW, gotta ask, what inspired the ??? moo jazz bass ??? , great stuff anyways
8. I has a Boss SYB-3 and personally couldn't do a usable thing with it , it a good effect doing pretty much what it says on the tin "turning your bass into a key-type-synth" (in my words) but in the right hands can defiantly get some "interesting" sounds out of it .
9. Hi all ! Just been reading through this thread, building my own effect is something Ive thought about but never gone any further than just thinking about it. Not knowing ware to start I'm just having an ask. So ware do i start ? Ive got plenty of scrap effects lying about (possibly enough to make a start at a simple A/B box) but what else is out there ? Don't think I'm any ware near ready to start etching my own boards just yet so what I'm looking for is a "all in kit" (everything that i need with wiring diagram etc), an envelope filter is high on my wish list along with an octave divider but can imagen that the circuitry is fairly complicated with those (not that I'm afraid of a challenge) or if you think I'm better off starting with something more simple, your advice is much appreciated. So ware do i start looking for a COMPLETE kit (thats if they exist) Thanks in advance. Dan.
10. Yup! there pretty darn close to the real thing, theres a lot of bass for little cash.
11.
Without paying through the nose for one off Ebay (if one comes up) there are two ways I can think of. The first would be to spray the existing one black & then sand the paint off the raised top of the logo until the plastic shows through - although I can understand not wanting to do that to the original trc. So the second would be to pick up a shonky copy trc (like the one that keeps coming up here) and do exactly the same thing. I think there are less issues in using a fake trc as part of a custom project with a real Rick.
Thanks for reply Yeah that was what i was thinking, its just finding a spair cover that doesn't cost more than the whole guitar lol, no way that want to mess with the original part so just constantly got an eye out for one in any colour an doctor that one, like you said, paint it black then rub off the lettering until is shows up white, with decent prep it will work.

13. Just thought id better post some BASS porn incase ive offended anybody with photos of guitars 1976 4001. One more quick question , the machine heads on it turn the wrong way around ??? like there on the wrong side, there are no marks on it to say that they have been replaced at any time and no way of swapping them over with out drilling holes (not that i would ever dream about doing that) Is that that just a Rickenbacker thing or something ?
14. This might be slightly off topic but heres the question, My Mrs is a hardcore Rickenbacker lover, bass wise she has a pretty nice 1976 4001 She also owns a 360-6 in black and a 360-12 in jet glow, With not being able to order custom parts from Rickenbacker, it makes minor customising hard. shes trying to go all black with the hardware on the 360-6, nothing to heavy just changing out the pic guard white for black, im still trying to track down a matching truss rod cover, so the plate is black with white lettering but can either of us find one ???!! , I no they exist Ive seen some of the colours that were available in the 80s (bright reds, blues an whites) with all black hardware, just having an ask if anybody knows ware i might be able to locate one. Don't want to do a swap (part for part) in case want to change it back to its original state etc, and you can be assured that the surplus cover WILL NOT end up on a Rockinbetter copy. Here are a couple of pics of it, The black pg thats on it now is a non-genuine copy but is a nice grade and the original is put up safely Thanks in advance.
15. Just a quick question for LuvMusic what are the leads that you are using on your board? look interesting, Thanks in advance.

Effect loop

Just been messing about with the signal chain and found that the Chorus followed by the Envelope Filter put through the f/x loop wasn't a to bad a sound, sounded fuller and more rounded (if that makes sense) but nothing really that noticeable. But when i put the Envelope filter right at the start of the chain (before the dirt), that sounded really good !! Defiantly fun to play with , putting them in random orders an see what happens (constructive way to spend your Sunday )
17. +1 on intonation Tune an open string to pitch with your tuner then check it to the open harmonics at the 12th fret and once again fretted at the 12th fret and see what you come up with.
18. I had a Tony Levin 5 banger a while a go and for what i payed for it it wasn't half bad for the little cash i payed for it ,still noting special though but with a tweak here and there it played and sounded great.

Effect loop

So basically if its in the format of a stomp box just put it all through the front of the amp like Ive always done ?
20. Open to offers on here if anybody interested.
21. Bump. Just relisted it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT
22. I received the power supply that i ordered after reading this thread on Wednesday 12/5/10 and set about sorting my pedal board out, I'm using it to run 4x Boss pedals 1x Electro harmonics & 1x Marshall pedal (6 in total off 2x daisy chains) and have to say that i cant fault it in any way at all, the unit even came with its own fixing kit to strap it down to your board!! I really cant bull this power supply up enough, never mind how much they cost, put a designer name sticker on it and charge 5x more for it and you will be hard pushed to tell the difference in terms of quality and performance. On the Sunday i was looking through there web page and came across a fixing kit to fasten your effects to your board with, (simple design, looks like a link off a bike chain that you simply just undo the screw on the bottom of your effect, attach the fixing and with a self tapping screw, screw it down!!) looks good and works great!! (you left thinking , why didn't i think of that ?) They look like this fitted Heres the link to them : http://www.johnnyshredfreak.com/store/inde...dex&cPath=7 So the two separate orders arrived at the same time, in the same package and i get an e-mail from them saying that my orders had been combined and the excess postage has been refunded to my PayPal account, the amount was less than £1 (the whole order was under £30 all in!) but its the principle behind it, (never had that happen before) Top marks to J.S.F.
