3. Still got the GAS for a 'MM, Bongo" the 4HSp" is looking favorite
4. Can never have to many Ray's!!! another to add to the collection !! Still Not decided yet if to keep the P/G clear to show off the burst or go with the black leather looking card under it ? looks an sounds great anyway!!
5. Strip it back to bare wood and wax/oil it, it might if it uncovers a one piece swamp ash body it will look grate oiled an waxed, if not it will need stripping to be refinished anyways, id go for it !
6.
he advantages of a multi-fx means you have a lot of choice.. the disadvantage is that most of the sounds on a multi-fx you wont use because they are useless (jet engines e.t.c) I go with pedals, due to me being able to get the exact pedal I need for my sound.. you hear a sound you like, research what pedal it is and there you go you have that sound. you said you know which sounds you need, roughly 4-5 pedals so if I was you i'd stick with that. UNLESS you consider the Line 6 Pod XT, which has amp models and stuff with the XT you can make your amp 'simulate' into being another amp model, such as an SVT for a really good drive sound. you can also make it sound as if its mic'd up, and you can change the cabs on it too.. in a nutshell if you know the sounds you want, then get the pedals if you want a wide-variety and have the time to configure and want stuff like amp simulation, get a multi-fx.
Totally agree, figure out the sound that you want to create in the first place the go hunting down the pedal to match the sound individual stomps get my vote every time, an if one breaks you still have the rest, just isolate the offending item on your board an away you go multi units are good but still end up with a load of effects that you will never use an if it goes down then you have lost the lot.
7. Im retracting my vote for the TU-2 due to it deciding to stop working on me today, only had it a few months and hardly used it. it lights up , goes into bypass, but nothing happens when want to check tuning ??? no lights just the check light an thats it. its on my pedal board being powered by a power brick , ive removed it an tried everything (running it off a battery, diffrent lead, taking it out of effect chain etc) an nothing ..... an the shops not open til monday now double aww well never mind it will get sorted one way or the other, WAS a good tuner while it lasted ??? , either get it changed for another or try somthing diffrent
8. Only ever ordered strings from them but top service off them at good prices
9. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=70148 Yeah theres definatly a few diffrent flavours out there
10. RHCP, BSSM is still as good today as it was when i first heard it back in 91. its a timeless classic love it or hate it pretty much everybody has owned a copy of it at some point.
11. Easyer said than done but .... how do i put this .... i try not to get to stressed/ angry with myself for not being able to get somthing right, cause then all the nasty little cogs in your head start turning an BOOM the mood is blown an you cant hear the sound in your head cause your blind by the $%^&*&^%$£$%^&* going through your head of what should be happing but isnt happing .... take a break !! less is more !! an all that s**t ... dont no if that made any sence, was talking to myself mainly i think... hence typing here an not practicing over there .....
12.
on the saddles...centre to centre...
+1, simple as that
13. I try an keep my gear in the best condition as i possably can, as it took a lot of staying in and saving up etc, to aquire over the years so i try to look after it an think thats the diffrence between it getting used and not abused Had my stingray an genz-benz from new an thay got a few scars here an there but saying that so have i and i was aparently new myself at one point There there to be played and enjoyed at the end of the day so what ever floats your boat. My personal oppinion on "road worn" stuff is ..... well my oppinion, not my cup of tea but for thoes who like them then there great (even the originals that there based on were new at one time (repeating myself here) an there not dents/scratchs that ive put on it so there of no concern of mine, so delibertaly defacing a guitar seems a bit ....... naw.... to me, im just happy growing old together with my guitars, Inbetween all that lot, a clean when you have finished playing never hurts
14. Thats what i want for christmas. http://flightcasewarehouse.co.uk/music/lis...sp?modelid=3984 Then a caring baggage handler to load it on ....... yeah exactly dream on but gotta do what you can cause at the end of the day there is no ammount of insurance that can replace a guitar that you are attatched to , there are 100s like the one you got but no two are the same, its yours an you wanna keep it that way But thank you to all who have put up idears and sugestions in this thred, been a great read an helpful (just wish could say the same about airports )
15.
They even look crap when their typed out
NERRRRR!!!! want one !!! ill quite happly give one a home many a home LOL yeah i got it bad an old a BONGO! 4H gonna fix it heheheheh
16.
I use the EBS Octabass, I think it's the modern one.. (with the three way switch Lo, Mid, Hi settings....) excellent pedal! really delivers.... & stays stable even on lower notes....

+1 for the EBS, This is the one that always comes out with me. great tracking and warm tone, in a bomb proof box. I also use a Micro POG, This is a digital octaver therefore the tracking is perfect even on a low E. Not as warm as the EBS though. I tend to use the POG for the octave up and the EBS for Octave down.
That is the problem that im finding with the EH, get a great sound from it on higher notes, very full, bold, etc but it makes the E string vitutualy unusable
17.
Heya, use the ashdown just like you do...and i love it! whats your verdict on it? I think it sounds amazing with a bit of a trebley sound put through it...or even a big muff....really weird synthy sounds! Hope you like the pedal!
Im pretty happy with it , brought it s/h of ebay at a very low price so for what i got cant complain, its nicly built in the respect that the controls are out of the way so cant be accidently moved, (the ??? output ?? meter lol, well o.t.t but ok ) just find it a bit to trebly... but sounds good with a chorus infront of it) on a whole its a good pedal
18. Thanx to everybody for replys, was just looking at the "E.B.S, octabass" (the later version) anybody had any dealings with one of theses? ta.
19. Same style thred as ive just put up but about octave deviders this time. As before i picked this up on fleebay pretty cheep , im happy with it in every sence but my findings are that its very limited (theres only a couple of setting on it that i find work nicely i.e theres a very fine line between getting a nice sound out of it an mushy noise??) so again ... same question... who uses what much thanx again Dan..
20. Just having a general ask about Envelope filters, who uses them an what model do you use. Ime currently useing an Ashdown bass envelope filter, i picked it up secondhand of fleebay quite cheeply when at the time i was looking at getting a BOSS auto-waw So the question is , what do you use? an how does it rank? Much thanx Dan...
