1. Niiiice! In an ideal world I'd snap this up, but the wife would probably explode as I've already told her I'm getting another bass!
2. I have the non-electro version of this guitar. It's my oldest instrument and I think that it's a great acoustic, good natural volume. I'd be interested in an electro version but I just don't have the room!
3. That looks some bass for the price!!!!! I'd be a bit wary of just sending money that far though.
4. I feel that I'm watching Return of the King having seen the Fellowship of the Ring but missed the Two Towers. I guess something went down when I wuz out of town, so I guess I'll just back out quietly .......... at least everyone 'seems' happy!?!

Silent Night

Nice! I've just stuck a guit*r version of Silent Night up on Youtube myself, using my somewhat bizarre tuning of AEBEBE.
6.
This thread makes me think about selling my kidney.
Sell the whole kid. You'll get more.
7.
Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooow when's it going to arriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive....
It will come when you least expect it. ........... unlike most men.
8.
Petes Music Emporium up Hightown was the place Sadly missed
Hmmmn ............ I'd say a bit of the old rose tinted specs there! A fair amount of junk at above junk prices if you ask me. Oldies like me may recall The old Luton music centre over Westside, a junkshop with guitars just over the road (cheap stuff!), and the short lived guitar shop run by one of the Gittings brothers up Midland road (burned down sadly!) Actually there's one guy in Coda who is grumpy enough for all of them! Most of them are fine though.
9. I wouldn't reccommend a calendar. My wife is very fussy about calendars and what she will and won't hang up - and there's only ever one! At work, we get sent loads of calendars so most get binned. As far as getting rid of Calendars - they only have a short shelf-life. I'd say Dec to Feb max, after that people don't want to think about calendars and they won't be any use next year! At least a CD can be given out/sold all year around. If you are giving away something it needs novelty value eg something like beermats, or specially packed condoms! Something that will amuse people.
10. That is a fabulous looking hunk of tree you got there.
11. I might add that I have lived in Luton for all but 3 years of my life. Total dump. Unfortunately the wife likes it due to friends and I am tied to local schools for about another 15 years or so! Coda music is a pretty handy shop though, and Machinehead is just down the road as well.
12. I only like 5s. Seems weird playing Eb or D on a 4 as the notes seem pretty high pitch.
13. Hmmmn, looks a bit unnatural to me. I'd want to see it in the flesh. I love the relic look but I HATE crappy DIY relics (I'm not saying that this IS one necessarily!)
14.
But can we say FECK?
I was always amazed that Father Ted got away with that!
15. Sei basses look .............. incredible!
16.
Hey, it's the other Martin! Yes, it's the myrtle-wood 5 that's ringing my bell at the moment It's got the tone block I want & it is truly stunning. I'm using the cocobolo bo5 a lot more than I thought I would at the moment, so "Myrtle" really would be useful. I'm taking my no.1 bass with me for a sound comparison, so we'll see...
Wow! that bass is the biz!!!!! If it had LEDs I would be on the blower right now! (I assume that they don't retro-fit them??)
17. Hi, I'm also in Luton! I'm a failed bassist, guitarist, keyboard, chapman stick and drum player. If I could just define failed, I don't play with other people and I've never played live, which is pretty sad when you are 45!
18. Apart from an initial start with piano, I'm self taught on several instrument. Personally, I think that you can progress a lot quicker with THE RIGHT TUTOR (important!). I pick things up very quickly if I'm shown, but give me a book and I'm hopeless! I'd have preferred some lessons over the years, even now (!) but boy have I saved a lot of money ...........
19. looks pretty tight string spacing! As with all these unusual basses, it would be nice to get your hands on it to try it.
20. I'm not sure if this has been flagged up before, but I came across this web page today GUITAR MAG SITE YOU CAN BASICALLY PURCHASE (oops, damn caps lock!) bundles of reviews or articles that they have published over the past 8 years or so eg Compilation of all the bass gear tested between 2004 and 2008. 114 reviews for £9. This is the front page: LINK well, looks good to me!
21. The problem for me is that I can find the perfect instrument, but I still GAS for the buzz of something new a year or two down the line.
22. Got bored with them quick, or do you just rip em then flog em?
23. In the light of all the details I would have to say no, but I don't think it's great form pulling out so late in the day. Anyway, you could do your band more harm that good, it doesn't sound like it's going to be a fair representation of your sound but no-one is going to know that.
24. I quite fancy a Carvin but I totally don't go for light coloured quilted tops. Real Ugggh factor for me, I'd have to have something dark.
