1. My pedalboard consists of a Korg tuner and my G30 at the moment. If I had a bigger boardI wouldn't want to hide it under anything as it has the lights on it that tell me when the battery is starting to lose power and saves me looking round all the time at the transmitter
2. Saw them on Sunday at the Academy in Glasgow. Absolutely fantastic. I would've paid the ticket money just to hear them play Big Fat Mamma. Alan is looking a bit frail and Rick was a bit red and sweaty but what a performance. John still looks just as frantic on the drums as he always did. If you like the early Quo then you'll love it. I wish I was going to see them again
3. Thanks for that Phil I've removed one of the drivers to check it and its an Ashdown branded one which is rated 150w @ 8 ohms. I now have two options: build a 2x10" cab running at 4 ohms and sit it vertically on a cab stand at ear level build 2 2x10" cabs running at either 16 or 4 ohms each wired so that when connected together give me 8 ohms. They would be situated on the floor and stacked vertically Which gives me more questions which may be difficult to answer as I can't find any specs on the drivers: Should each 2x10" be half the size of the 4x10" or the same size as the 2x10" cab that Ashdown makes given that that cab must either have 4 or 16 ohm drivers fitted which may or may be different? Will I notice much difference in volume between running a single cab or both together? Will the ports be the same size and length as in the 4x10" ? Thanks in advance
4. These were fantastic combos. I had one and sold it a couple of years ago for £360 but they're starting to get old now The speakers will probably be tired, plus they're heavy and unless its had the Trace mod you can't run a external speaker cab but they were loud anyway.
5. Steve Gadd, Buddy Rich, Vinnie Colaiuta and Steve Moore I find drummers the most amazing musicians to watch and listen to
6. I hadn't thought about that. Its Ashdown so I doubt its lined.
7. I really like the sound of my Ashdown ABM410 but like most people on here I would like something a bit lighter. I know that 4 10" speakers arranged vertically will have better dispertion or something like that and that traditional square 4x10"s are a compromise so if I were to take the 4 10" drivers out of my Ashdown cab and build a cab that has them arranged vertically and retains the same internal volume, would it sound better, louder or does the shape of the cab matter? Just curious cos I can't find anything that I would like to replace it with currently
8. That's the same bass with a different scratchplate Its a Fender Precision Special Deluxe FSR from last year. 250 made, apparently 150 in European the neck was allegedly one of the first off the line that would later be fitted to the MIM Geddy Lee bass. Lovely basses, great to play as well. Check my sig for more pics
9. Would it be this?
10. Bump for lower price. This is already boxed and ready to go so I could have it collected tomorrow for delivery on Monday
11. Easily the best Fender I've ever played. I'll never sell mine and that's after buying and selling over 80 basses from free rubbish to £3000 rubbish
12. Hopefully Big Fat Mamma as well. I'm going on Sunday as well.
13. Still available. I can still do a deal with this and the amp and cabs that I am selling
14. I fitted a PJ EMG set on Thursday night. It did take longer than expected as there are numerous ways to connect everything together. The jack that you get with it has three prongs on the back - one from the battery and the other two from the tone pot. Check that you have put them in the right way round. If you hold the jack exactly the way you see on thediagram then you should be able to check straight away if something is wrong
15. I buy Energizers for my bass. I bought a load of Energizer Ultra + AA batteries for my G30 wireless and they don't fit. They're too long. Not obvious when I've got them side by side with my old batch of energizers but the battery door doesn't shut properly. Off Ebay as well but the seller hasn't got back to me so far
16. £39 for postage
17. There's loads of us lefties playing righties - the late Gary Moore as well as Mark King, I believe, are/were both left handed. Someone hit the nail on the head above -you generally do what feels right unless someone tells you otherwise. For me it was Mike Reid of Saturday Superstore fame ( not the"Pat" MIke Reed ) - I would be playing air badminton raquet, pretending it was a guitar, left handed style and suddenly I see this guy play guitar on the telly and I am now aware that I'm playing it the "wrong" way round so switch to right handed and its been that way since 1987 Oh aye - I've seen Brad Whitford from Aerosmith play a lefty strat right handed, although its probably some custom made thingy
18. between 5th January and Thursday nothing, then 15 minutes today - I have a last minute gig with the rock band tonight
19. Here's what I use for my GK head The rack would've made it huge overall and since I transport all my own gear, it was the best choice for me
20. Still available. As mentioned in my amp for sale thread I will be gigging in O'Connells in Kirkcaldy on Friday night so you could be walking away with it at the end of the night - hell, let me tune up with it and you can take it away at the start of the night.
21. And replied. All still available
22. Clearly someone, actually some people, with too much time on their hands. Although it might come in handy the next time I gig in Atlantis
