1.
i think they run with starved plates and have a battery life of an hour or two, so not ideal, The only gripe is microphonics like if you hit the bass or play really hard you get ringing, i need to think of some kind of way of padding it out to prevent this.
I do both
2. I noticed that. Its a beauty but the lack of postage options means that he's reduced his target audience by quite a bit.
3. Just found out that Dawsons & micro music in Liverpool are both trace dealers so may take a trip there one day.
4. This might have to be put on hold for a week. The end of today is probably the latest time i can get a courier organised to come before I go on holiday. Alternatively, if you live near the M74, A74 or M6 as far down as Southport I can drop it off on saturday.
5. sounds like a plan christmas hat man
6. A ken a bass that blah ablah bl ah
7. Brut 45 - slap it all over Man am I drunk right now
8. No worries - you're third on the list There are a silly amount of people interested in this cab. I don;t think that it will make it to the for sale section.
9. I sometimes find just a slight turn raises the neck over first 5 frets or at least the others look straighter. It could be the drugs or lack thereof. Definitely sounds like you need more relief on the neck if it buzzes everywhere
10. I could quite happily take the Pepsi challenge and make any bass playable. In fact, how about a challenge for one of the bass bashes? Bring a bass in any condition, as long as the electronics work, If I have a supply of cheap strings and tools I will make any bass play brilliantly. I'm not an expert, I just have a lot of experience of playing cheap basses and making them gigworthy.
11. One thing I discovered and have mentioned before is that as long as it can be adjusted, any bass can be used professionally. The only advice I can give is to try different basses. I found that ones I really wanted were the ones that ended up being the ones that played horribly and ended up going for something completely different. I normally think of the most complicated bassline I know I can play and try to play it on a new bass. If I can play it straight away then I know I'm on to a winner. After that its all about the balance, comfort factor and price
12.
would you trade for any of my family members?
I've thought long and hard about his but can;t think of anything funny without being sick or barbaric
13. One of the fastest playing basses I ever owned
14. Woohoo - it accepts the plural but not the singular. how queer

16.
Alembic "soiler"?
Its shits all over the competition. Ideal for bass runs I could go on
17. Although I don't personally like Jazz basses, I have a soft spot for cream ones with rosewood boards as when I was at school, we had a squier jazz in that finish. Looking back, it probably was a JV or SQ and I loved it and being one of the few that played bass at school and being as popular as I was as big fat party animal, magic mushrooms wizard, acid casualty, where's the doobie?, I always got to play that one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-Jazz-Made-in-...1QQcmdZViewItem
18. I personally do not have gas for any bass but I would love to buy one of these just to try it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fender-1983-Precisio...1QQcmdZViewItem Unfortunately I will be on holiday getting shitfaced when it ends so could not possibly bid on it.
19. Anyone else noticed that the postage is really high? You think he's delivering it door to door?
20.
Dare you to ask him
I just did
21. I've always loved Gretsch basses but unfortunately my sportman like physique (darts is a sport) means that it is a tad uncomfortable. Your right about being aggressive with them. They handle a plectrum well, thumbing and regular finger use but if you're anything like me then I know exactly what you mean. I hammer the crap out of my Warmoth but its a big solid beasty. I'm sure the guy from Wolfmother plays something like this.
22. And correct you were. When I left it to dry it was silky smooth but now its showing just the right amount of grain - not that you can actually see it from the picture. Thought Id finish this thread off since I actually started another in the gear porn section showing off the rest of it. The finished result:
23. I can vaguely remember in the olden days before surround sound systems were mainstream of taking a lead from the headphone socket of my TV to my Peavey TNT150 combo to give it some bollocks and bollocks it gave
24. That probably explains why my other bass sounded damn all like it did with the tone control in any position. Looking forward to getting it back up and running again. Need to get the finger out before the Warwick sells as I;ve been relying on that for band practice.
25. Its just round the corner innit?
