1. check out this thread http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=612616 seems that a MIA one should fit - I say 'should'
2. A shameless plug for my defretted Aria ZZB Deluxe http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT Took it apart yesterday to give it a good clean. and added a shim to the neck pocket so that I could adjust the action at the bridge - with the frets gone, the saddles couldn;t go low enough for reasonable action Cheaper here if anyone wants to make an offer by PM
3. What kind of condition is it in? Have you got any pictures?
4. PM Thornybank - he's your man as he probably has both of these amps as well as everything else Trace ever did
5. For years I've been using a guitar combo purely for the fact that they're not designed to output huge low end which is what annoys the neighbours. You can get a decent tone out of it at home levels. If I never played live then I daresay I'd look for something fancy but my little Meridian 40w guitar combo is perfect for practicing at home.
6. Is that you Yoda?
7. I can be a very violent player - no I don't whack old ladies over the head with my bass and steal their scone money - I have a tendency to whack the strings and stuff and I simply couldn't do that on a guitar I've tried picking up the guitar but cannot get past the fact that they feel so small and sound so screetchy, not to mention those tiny strings. In a band context, my experience is that after keyboard players, a good bass player is almost as hard to find. I could never have become as good as I am by jumping from instrument to instrument. A bass feels like home to me. It feels like the most natural thing in the world as I have now been playing over twice as long as I haven't ( I started when I was 11 and am now 34)

9. perhaps the endorsee deals are with the old company and new ones need to be drawn up under the new company details? If so then this should be temporary unless there's some savings to be made. Bit pants that they are using numbers instead of names. Glad in a way as I have to be frank inthat I don't know who half their endorsees are so it would be bizarre to me to buy a bass with someone's name on it and don't know who they are. It can't be far off time for me to experiment with Lakland, Sadowsky et al as they are the few bass companies that I have never tried their products
10. ooh matron - what a lovely pair
11.
It is very nice! Is that your woodshed? I keep my bongo mags in mine.
i didn't know you played another instrument
12. I think this is rig #4 or something like that for this year alone. Gallien Krueger 700RB II, Trace Elliot V-Series 1528 2x15" and 4052H Bright Box Ready to rock Ready to load up I've just emailed Roqsolid to see if they can do a matching cover for the 4052H. The one for the 2x15" is perfect
13. After trying a few times I realised that I'm just too cack handed to do this kind of thing so ended up changing out the panel mount jack socket and this was a piece of cake by comparison
14. Jason Lollar all the way for me. powerful, punchy, manly.
15. I wasn't able to get anywhere near cranking my OBT when I had it. I would probably have benefitted from a 250w version its so loud. To crank the preamp I found that the master was just barely on so a lower wattage version would've meant that I could've opened up the power section a bit more
16. Yes - everything is sold updated the title
17. parcelmonkey rocks -cheap as you like and so easy to use
18. I'm actually beginning to doubt that its actually one of yours but i was sure i ordered it from you. It looks like it has 4 pole speakon plugs on the end, one orange and one blue and the wires are brown and blue the cable has the details 'demko', 'nkt cables', '2x2.5mm'.
19. Think I've found it already - page 28 http://www.britishaudioservice.com/inst/SERIES%206.pdf pin 2 positive and pin 1 negative so does that mean that it would go pin 2 on the XLR to 1+ on the speakon and pin 1 to 1- ? does pin 3 just get left bare then? Are they marked pin 1, 2, 3 on the XLR and 1+ and 1- on the speakon?
20. Out tomorrow night for a gig and there's a wee issue with the 1/4" input on my trace cab. It works fine but the socket just needs replaced. I have a speakon-speakon cable that I bought from OBBM a while back so I was thinking, to get me through tomorrow's gig, about taking one of the speakons off and replacing it with an XLR to fire into the other input I take it that I can go and buy a regular XLR connector but what wire goes to what pin? I've been reading a lot and some people reckon that pin 3 is hot and pin 1 is ground, others reckon it is 2 and 1 and some suggest that 2 and 3 are bridged for hot and 1 is ground. I have no intentions of touching anything until I know exactly what goes where to I would appreciate some assistance to make sure I get this right Thanks in advance
21. I don't know about locking in but I once got locked out of the house after a huge bender. I've been spoiled for the past 15 years playing with a phenomenal drummer. We know exactly what we are going to play even if its the first time we've done something or decide to drop a bit of jazz* into a song. We feed off each other's playing. I've actually realised that I concentrate more on the high hats and ride cymbal than anything else. * jazz is our band term for when it all goes horribly wrong and you become possessed with the spirit of Les Dawson
22. That's a nice 'clean' example
23. Another shuttle bargain in the same week. let's see how many minutes it takes for this one to go
